According to an old post by another member, Detroit told them (via email) that they do offer same-day visa issuance, although they can't guarantee it: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t57488.0.html. Although as far as I know, they actually ended up mailing theirs in anyway.

Boo :(

I guess my option would be for me to GO to Detroit with the hopes of handing in my passport very early in the AM, and then prepare to stay the night, if need be, then if they say no, just 'bimble' across the border again, and fed ex it from Windsor.

To answer the question I live in London, which is 2 hours 30 minutes from Downtown detroit (30 of those are on the bridge...)

Cheers

Well if they offer it I would head to Dertroit and do it. Buffalo offers it as well but they also dont guarantee it but I've never heard of someone having to come back to retieve it later.

Hoping it happens for u soon Hal!

And I received an email from Detroit as well, with regards to my question of status, where the reply was simply that they are waiting on Mississauga about the receipt of the RPRF Fee, and THEN THEY WILL FINALIZE MY FILE!!

I imagine that if they were NOT to give me a PR they simply would not request it!!!

I am stoked and happy! and I also sent an email to Detroit asking about same day stampings, and I will publsih here as soon as I know.

Cheers
Hal.

When did you send the RPRF fee? I sent mine in and was wondering how long you've been waiting as I am still waiting on Miss. to forward recpt to buffalo as well.

One month ago... I had included all my info on the piece of paper, but nope...

Anyways, purolator is picking it up for delivery at 1pm, and they deliver it in toronto tomorrow. I included the VO who is looking at our stuff in Mississauga on the address label as a'Care Of' sorta, we'll see what that does.

Cheers

Nice! It does sound like you're on the final stretch, now. Hopefully you'll hear good news soon.

I got PPR yesterday guys!

Congratulations Rola14 and TheHal

TheHal...you are almost done. I wish everything goes smoothly. All the best :)

CHeers,

Hi everyone,

Hoping for a bit of support. I can only log on with my (sponsor) details and the same message "application received" remains. No "in process"

It has been 5 months and no change but others from Singapore are getting PR and most seem to have changes on the ecas a couple of months before approval.

Do you think there could be a problem?

Thanks

Hi,

You dont need to worry about it. Every case is different and is handled buy different person. If you application is under the normal processing time so that is fine. If it exceeds the normal processing time then you need to contact them. My ecas is not updated from past 5+ months. It still says "application rec". There is no harm if you want to do case inquiry. Why don't you order CAIPS notes?

Cheers,

I second the suggestion to order your CAIPS notes. It might give you an idea as to what's going on with your file, without you having to nag your visa office via email or enquiries that may or may not even be answered.

Just got an email from Detroit again, confirming that you CAN go there, just no guarantee that they can issue it on the same day, if they are really busy.

My plan, when the email comes, is to take the next weekday off, and plan to be IN Detroit at the office when the doors open in the early AM, and HOPE against HOPE that they will issue it on the spot in a smooth and rapid function.

Then land Immediately at the bridge, and go directly to get my new SIN and update my healthcard!!!

This shall be filles with awsomeness, now it just needs to happen, as in soon!!
Cheers all!

Oh, the excitement -- it's jumping off the screen :P.

About going in person to Detroit: do you know what days they allow this? Because as far as I know, Buffalo is open for same-day issuance only on Tuesdays and Thursdays (as an example). Unless they've told you that you can come any workday of the week, you might want to doublecheck with them.
