Thread for October 2010 Applicants

Hi everyone! This is my first time here in this thread. I also applied for an immigration visa in canada and my application and documents were submitted in Oct 2010. I had a canadian immigration consultant to help me assist in the processing. They have submitted it to Nova Scotia and a tracking number was sent to me that the CIO already received it. However, it's been almost 6 months and I havent received any ticket (?) number where I can track the status of my application. I havent receieved any notice from NC as well that they have started working on my application as well. I applied for NOC for RN, immigrant.

I would like to ask if there's anyone from here with the same case as mine. Should I worry now that I havent received any ticket number yet? It's been 6 months now... I made a follow up on my lawyer and they said that they have already requested a follow up in NC and patience is still required since they had some changes in July 2010 that may cause the delays and they may handle cases uniquely as they have instructed me.

I'm looking forward for any response and it will be very much appreciated. Thanks and God bless us all! All the best!

I'm not sure if you'll find much help in this thread, because it's for people who've applied under the Family Class (sponsored spouses and partners). A completely different process. You may have more luck re-posting this in the Federal Skilled Worker forum or whichever category best fits yours. Good luck!

and they said his file is under active review
so what's the meaning of this active review?
any one with a clue please share me

To me it just sounds like a vague way of saying an immigration officer is reviewing his file. It doesn't give any indication as to what step the file's processing is at. Maybe others will know more, but it sounds vague to me. Like their way of saying, "It's still in process". But hopefully it means something's being done and you're closer to hearing something soon.

i agree with Rinnerz they working on ur application u cant guess when they finish this process but at least u know they working on it ,,its positive thing

I'm not sure if you'll find much help in this thread, because it's for people who've applied under the Family Class (sponsored spouses and partners). A completely different process. I got 2 more false alarms from the eCAS Tracker today...

Meanwhile, we are waiting for Buffalo to reply to my consultant's email. We found out that Buffalo seems to have "lost" my UAE police certificate. My consultant has sent them proof of having sent the original to them (courier receipts, copies of the original, emails between him and them in December, etc). Now we wait to see if they "find" it or at least accept the perfect color copies he's sent them.

CAIPS notes also show no signs of a background check having been started -- almost 5 months from when they started processing my file. They also show that Buffalo had an RCMP name check done on me in December, and the results are STILL not attached to my file. And my bring forward date was April 1, but nothing's changed on my file since December.

We wouldn't have known about any of this without my CAIPS notes (arrived after 6 weeks).

What do you mean by false alarms?

Meanwhile they are looking for your police certificate why dont you order another one in case they ask you for the other one. Just to be on the safe side. So even if they ask you for another one you have it ready ...(just suggesting) BUT i hope they find it.

We just got PPR in an email! We are very excited and, of course, much relieved. We are traveling now out of the country, so we will have to take care of mailing off the passport and landing right after we get back to Canada.

From PPR to getting it back, it took 3 weeks..

Got it back this past monday, drove down to the peace bridge and it took about 20min to complete!

I'll be monitoring this board less but you can still PM me if u have any questions..
