please who ever it was, add my ack received date to be the 6th or should it be the 12th since thats the actual date i received the letter? but it was dated the 6th.

Wow we are a quiet group! I had to search for us! I looked and looked and finally I gave up. There were a lot of the other groups or pg 2 or even 3 so I guess it's either everyone is shy now or there's been a lot of new questions asked.

i think we are all done what we can do and longing for the result........
i am checking for the thread everyday.....pray everyday....waiting quietly....... i just want to send passport even they haven't requested yet!!

Ok so a decision has been made about my sponsorship and the letter was sent on the 20th of December.... How long do you think I should wait until I contact CIC about the letter!! I have a feeling the letter (if it EVER arrives) will take months to get here, and I can't wait forever to know if I've been approved or not as a sponsor

Hi all,

As some of you have noticed, I've been taking a break from the forums. The lack of activity (due to the holidays), and the whole negative karma thing (despite my best efforts to help people) has inspired me to focus my attention elsewhere - spending time with family, doing my best at work (while I still have a job), and cleaning/downsizing/preparing for the eventual good news.

It's been one month ago today that Mississauga was supposedly sending my application to Buffalo. It's been an entire month with no communication... I'm not surprised. I also anticipate the radio silence for some time to come. The only way to not let it get to you, is to preoccupy yourself with other things, and enjoy the remaining time you have, before you move. That's exactly what I'm trying to do.

My spouse (sponsor) is checking the forums most days, and letting me know if anything happens (AOR/PPR/etc) for anyone in November/October threads. If nothing happens, she doesn't bring it up. I plan to check in once a week or so.

If anyone needs me, feel free to shoot a PM. I'll get it in my email right away.

I'm praying we hear good news soon. All eyes are on the October thread, as we won't be going anywhere until they do.

No worries Pharoh, I know exactly what you mean. We have been really busy decorating and getting the house ready to go on the market. I am trying to keep myself busy otherwise I would go mad. We just have to find the best way to cope with the wait. We will get there soon!!

I was looking for the right words to explain how I've been feeling lately and why I stopped checking and writing posts in here... but I couldn't. Well, Pharoh, reading your last post inspired me. What you said could come right our of my head.
I feel exactly the same way. It's so frustrating not even knowing if our application is safely waiting in the VO or got lost by snail mail... I don't even want to think about it.

I would like to congratulate everyone who shared their good news here and thank all the people who try to keep this thread alive and on the first page.

I'm so tired of thinking "Maybe next week it's going to be our turn". I decided not to think about it anymore.

This pertains more to people going through Buffalo, but a good sign for November as well...

If you look at the Outland/Buffalo thread, you'll see someone got their PPR already!! They applied October 17th, and got an email from the Buffalo office today, requesting their passport! That's exactly 3 months from start to finish!

If you look in the October thread, you'll see someone got an update on eCas saying "InProcess". They submitted their app (to Missisagua) on October 23th.

So great news for Buffalo people (like myself), showing that people are actually doing some work there, and also great news for October/November people, as it looks like they're almost done with October, and should be working on ours soon!

So...I just got back from Toronto last night - had a great weekend with the hubby and his family (well mine as well). Can't wait to be in the same country! Anyways...we've visited with a Mortgage Specialist over the weekend to get a pre-approval mortgage so we can get our life started but we got some bad news! RBC states they cannot use my income in the US for a pre-approval - I would have to have a status other than visiting and working in Canada. Does anyone else know of any other bank that can use my income or any other information to help us out?

Hi DKA.

Did you try TD or BMO (Bank of Montreal)? They may be willing to assist, but I'm honestly not sure. I know we have a different credit system than in Canada, so they can't take anything into consideration (which can be a good thing, if your credit sucks here!). As you're just wanting them to assess your income, however, I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Yep, hoping we all get AOR soon. Hell, a PPR would be fine too. I don't care.

We haven't tried any other banks as yet - we just tried RBC hoping they could do something for us being that my husband works for RBC and we both have bank accounts with RBC. Next time I make it there we'll set up appointments with TD, Scotia, BMO, and HSBC.

I'm still trying to research the question I asked a while back - hoping someone found out the answer before me? I wanted to find out once Mississagua approves the sponsors part of the application how often are the Principal Applicant's part of the application sent sent to it's respective Visa offices? Are they sent on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly basis? Hopefully someone has the answer!! I would really like to receive a letter stating they're requesting my passport like RIGHT NOW!

Thanks everyone for your tips & kind words for the pregnancy. I sent our local visa office an email more than a week ago now to ask a few questions about options and they haven't got back to me yet (whereas on previous occasions I had asked them different questions and I got a response back within a day)... so assuming everywhere is busy all over.

I know January and then February can be tough months in the northern hemisphere, particularly with the short days and potential for blizzards. The good news is that with each day you'll be getting a few minutes more daylight and another day closer to getting to your 'home'...

My baby's due date is coming soon and I want my hasband to be with me at the moment of the first breath of our baby!!

and at this moment i am not sure he can make on time,but i am glad to hear some good news!! it has been frozen for while and yes everybody feels hard.....and hope it is going to be happy and joy for everybody!!

Hey geminibella,

I'm sorry to hear about your application issues. I don't believe it'd take that long, but there was a period of several weeks where the mail system was overwhelmed (end of December/beginning of January) At the same time, though you were told it was sent on December 7th, that may not be the actual date it left the building, but rather, was put in the "outgoing" pile of applications to send to other visa offices.

I'd give it a little bit more time, maybe another couple weeks? Which visa office did you put down? You shouldn't have to check with both offices (Damascus and Beirut), just whichever of those two you put down on your application as your visa office of choice.

Hey DKA,

Good luck finding out any information on the "inside". I doubt you'll have much luck. As much as I wish there were CIC informants on this forum (telling us how things work, etc), it's pretty top secret.

I'm guessing they go out weekly, as peoples time lines over the past several months have indicated so. In some cases, they've received AOR/InProcess from Buffalo or other visa offices in less than two weeks, so at the most, it'd be a bi-weekly thing. They probably ship off a whole bunch of applications to each visa office, once they reach a certain quota.

That's my guess anyways. I don't think we can find out anything factual, unfortunately.
