Hey blues,

I'm surprised they didn't accecpt your bankers draft. That's what we have sent. It says that if you live excusively outside of Canada that you can send an international bankers draft or mony order. We tried to pay online (from the UK) and we couldn't. It basically told us that we could not pay online from here...not too sure why, that was after getting through to a certain stage...and we tried twice. On the CIC website it does say that people applying from overseas could pay on line, but that didn't seem to be an otpion in our case...maybe you can pay online overseas if you have a Canadian bank account? .

Hi all, I thought I'd just drop in and see how you guys are going with the November thread. I know how stressful it all is getting it gone and then just waiting. I am surprised whitehorsejk that you weren't able to pay online from UK, as that is what I did. I did it here on my visa card and it all went through fine and I got the receipt and sent it in. My sponsorship approval has all gone through now, so there mustn't have been any problems with it. I just think its strange that you weren't able to do that as well.

Hopefully they won't have problems with your money draft, if so, maybe be worthwhile to try again with on-line payment, or give them a call and ask what the problem is.

Also for anyone who hasn't sent off their parcel yet from UK, I sent mine via Fedex and if you get it to a centre by 11am, you can have it delivered to Mississauga by noon the next day. It does cost a little more, mine was £50, but to me it was worth it!

Jen85: i sent it out.. nothing to be done about the delay lol but yeah u're probably right they do probably take a look at everything, if all the papers are in or not and then send it to process it. reason why i think they sent the whole application back is because the payment is for both my (sponsors application) and his'. so they probably dont want to look into it without getting the payment corrected. o well i know it wouldve been easy just sending a letter to me!

whiteshorsejk: well it was iffy situation in my case because i dont exclusively live out of canada.. i was out of canada for about 4 months and my initial plan was to send all the papers from there, but i diddnt do it. i came back and then send the papers from here.. so they were probably like if i dont live out of canada why would i be sending an intl bank draft.. the draft by the way was fine, it was in canadian dollars with the banks name, address, account number and everything on it. but like i said i dont live exclusively out of canada!

in any case thanks for the words of support guys. and good luck to all you who sent their applications recently!

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.

Hi all,

I'm just checking in. I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving (to those who celebrate this time of year), and for everyone else, a good weekend.

Those of us who sent our apps the first or second week of November should be hearing something towards the latter end of the next two weeks, probably. JMA, CanuckyInItaly, lemony_20, and Jen85, you should hopefully know something by the end of this week, eh? They (Mississauga) seem to be doing good at approving within 30 days, so that'd put you guys at the Approval stage via eCas/letter by week's end. Please keep us informed (I know you will).

blues, I'm sorry about the delay in your application, but that's great news for all of us, that they actually open the applications when they first arrive (unlike a certain visa office *cough* Buffalo *cough*). Do you have an ETA for when CIC Mississauga will have it back in their possession? You should hopefully have approval by Christmas, if not, definitely by New Year's.

I hope you're all faring well through the holidays, and are able to spend time with your loved ones, even if it means Skype, IM, etc. At least we've come a long ways since the pigeon carrier!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. No, we don't celebrate it in the UK but I know it is an important holiday in the US so hope you enjoyed it.

I am getting nervous now as I know we should hear something soon as to whether they will accept me as sponsor. It is getting close and they do seem to be moving along pretty well in Mississauga. You will be the second to know when I hear anything...after my partner of course!

Hopefully there will be some good news soon for the November group.

Ok, more silly questions from me....
I just checked the CIC website for processing times and it says they are working on applications from 22 October and it will take 38 days. If they received my application on the 19th of november, then does that mean it will be ages until they start processing?
Also, once they start processing the application, they will then approve me as a sponsor and that's when they send the application to london? And is that the office I look up when trying to find processing times? The website says that London approves 30% of apps in 3 months. Hope I'm in that 30%!!

Sorry for all the silly questions! My husband did ALL of the application and research, so i'm fairly in the dark about how this actually works.

1. it takes around 30 days from time you filled your application
that means you will have some thing around 20 december 2010
2. yeah london will be your visa office

I've just tried to access e-CAS with my online payment receipt no. and it worked!

DECISION MADE!!!!!

"We received your application to sponsor **** on November 1, 2010.
We sent you a letter on November 25, 2010 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

Hubby and I are freaking out! ;D

I didn't use the e-CAS tracker. I'm not even registered yet. I've just tried to log in (today for the first time) with my online payment receipt no. and I truly didn't expect to enter and find such great news... though it doesn't mean that I've been found eligible yet. Now we have to wait for the letter...

jma please don't worry, I'm sure you'll hear something soon!
