I am trying to get some reference letters from my friends. Does anyone know if we need to get them notarized??
I found a few sample letter formats...

If you are applying Common Law you must have at least two notorized letters of support. If you are just including letters of support in the married application, they do not need to be notorized.

hey thanks chrimano ............i know my story sounds crazy ha..........i hope this one will work fine...........i just can't wait.......

What should be in the reference letter from friends? Is there any specific format or details that should be on it? thanks

If you do a search of the forum, there are some example letters as well as example letters of what to ask friends and family to put into the letters.

Good morning, guys! The Processing Times: Family Sponsorship page should get updated today. It says they update the Sponsorship Approval timeline weekly, and the last update was on the 1st. I'll keep an eye on it and post the new timeline as soon as they get it up.

Sometimes it takes longer than a week but it should be updated by Friday. It was Fridays for a while then suddenly posted a couple of days early to bring it up to last Weds. They aren't always that predictable!!

hehe I'll keep an eye on it all the same. It's the only semi-productive obsessing I can do right now.

It is only from my own obsessive checking that I know that!!! :P

Hi everyone! I am so excited to FINALLY be able to post to an applicant thread after months of reading through the site. The hubby mailed everything in yesterday overnight, so hopefully Mississauga received it today. Good luck to all :)

Hubby just checked after I told him about the post, hee. Rec'd today at 8:30 am!

Hi karla718,
Welcome to the December thread and congrats for the received application.

Hi Karla! Welcome to the December thread, and congrats! :) We're glad to have you join us.

Are you coming from Texas?

Good morning,

Tried to sing up in CIC page to check application status, but they couldnt find my file yet. Probably they didn't start processing it yet.
I think mine might be delayed because our payment went to Alberta, because we were going to apply inland before. Hope they will figure this out soon. ::)

@quakingaspen - You can say I'm coming from Texas by way of Ohio, haha. I am originally from Texas, so that is how I chose to identify myself.

After months of putting this information together and discussing the finer points with hubby, it feels really strange that we now have nothing to do but wait. Hopefully the holidays put CIC in a fast, happy mood!

I'm from Utah by way of Texas. :) I spent a little bit of time there before I moved up here.

The stress of waiting is different than the stress of getting it all together. With the getting it together stress, you can actively do something to help you feel better. But with the waiting stress, you know it's all taken care of and you just have to hold on.

Here's hoping we don't have to wait too long!

I did the same thing with my timeline.
I also had 2 activitys going on at the same time and I did it the same way as you did. (2010/02-2010/05 and 2010/2-2010/06)
