@ chrimano - Nope. We should have, but we sent it with the regular post office and had then get a signature for it. I keep watching... but I'm not sure they update their delivery information very quickly.

Application received today at 830am Vegreville.

BUT I am planning to apply outland instead for the processing time is way better. Would I be able to refund all that I have paid? And can we submit the outland application first before cancelling the inland? Thank you.

Hi,

I used Fedex. Our application delivered Dec 6, 2010 10:39 AM to Mississauga.

Does anyone knows what we should be waiting for now? Mail, Email, phone call from CPC?
can we check our application status online? CIC website has this option...

What I understand it takes now up to 37 days to get the sponsorship approved.

I will wait a couple of weeks and then sign up for eCAS with the receipt number I got when paying the fees.
I hope then that I will somehow see if there is a "DM" - Decision made.
And then just wait for the letter which will be sent to your sponsor.

Hope its this easy as I think - someone please correct me should I be wrong.

Hi All December applicants, good luck and just keep busy while waiting - it does help.

With regards to what happens next, you will get a letter once your sponsorship decision is made and if you have missed anything out of your application they will check it as this stage and sent it back to you.

A really useful tool made by matthewc is the Ecas tracker which you can all sign up for, which makes life so much easier - https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/.

What happens is once your application is logged onto the system by CIC they will upload the information into Ecas and you can then log in with your receipt number and sponsors details. Instead of going absolutely crazy checking Ecas every hour, sign up for the Ecas tracker above and it will check it for you every hour and then send you an email once you are able to log on, as well as every time there is a change made to your application. It makes life so much easier to know that you won't miss any changes.

Oh yes, Ecas obesssion is a recognised obsession with us with applications going through!!

I am trying to get some reference letters from my friends. Does anyone know if we need to get them notarized??
I found a few sample letter formats...

I'm not sure if you should get them notarized or not. We didn't send in any additional reference letters... but it certainly can't hurt!

We sent in some reference letters and did not have them notarized. (the immigration guided did not ask for that)
We asked our friends to write them in english and sign and date them.
The content was supposed to say something about that they knew us for a long time and about our plans to live together in Canada etc.

@quakinkaspen: congrats to the delivery now start the waiting game.

I am pretty sure there are some more December applicants coming soon - otherwise maybe CIC does not have too much work and our applications will be processed faster
