What is it truly with those 'APPLICATION RECEIVED' not moving to 'IN PROCESS.
Could it be that they may actually have started to process the application but eCas never got updated ?

In our case would just like to make sure they got our FBI certif.. we sent it just after stage 1 (Sponsorship approval).
Just a little worried they may have lost it as it has happened with others in the past...

My best guess is that when our applications are taken out of the boxes, they send an AOR to us and then start processing the application. So I think you're right. I think those who have received an AOR but no "In Process" just haven't been updated.

On the other hand, the January/February AOR's are different, I think. I think they're scanning them as soon as they arrive, and then they will have a two month wait to move to In Process.

I hope they did get your certificate! Can you get in touch with them to ask with your file number?

Nothing new this week - here's to next week! ;)

Yeah :D I wouldn't doubt it! Our timeline is almost the same.

FleetingDasein and quakingaspen, are you both going right to Buffalo to get your visas?

Well it seems no AOR this week for me , then again who knows, Our Attorneys probably received it today,if not there is always next week.. Have a great weekend all

I am gonna go there in person. I live in downtown Toronto so my fiance and I are taking a bus there. It's only $28 roundtrip on Greyhound. I already found a nice hotel on hotwire for $53 a night. Just waiting for my PPR to book it. It's so close yet so far away!

Nice! I grew up in Buffalo. Now live in north Toronto!

(Protip: Don't hang around the Greyhound station in Buffalo any longer than absolutely necessary. Not a pleasant area. I can only guess which hotel you'll be at, but if it's the one closest to the HSBC building itself, there's plenty to do around there ;) )

There's a bunch of us that live in Toronto. 8)

Thanks for the tip! I was planning on taking amtrak/viarail, but I figured I might as well save $50 and go by bus. I'm planning on checking out some of the sights in Buffalo. Do you have any recommendations? I'm visiting the Albright-Knox art gallery, but asides from that, I don't have any other plans. It's gonna be my first trip to New York state, so I'm quite excited about it.

Yep! I think I'll be driving down to Buffalo too. My husband plans to stay in Niagara and wait for me, and I'll maybe rent a car to go down. I'll probably cross in the wee hours of the morning, get there soon after they open, and head back north as soon as I'm done. Short trip, but awesome. :)

Albright-Knox is always good. How long were you planning on staying there? Once you have a more concrete idea of when you'll be heading down and what kinds of things you'd like to do/see, I can give you some good recommendations. Send me a PM if you want. :D

qakingaspen: If you've never been there before, the streets downtown can be insanely confusing... Luckily the HSBC building is the only REALLY tall building in Buffalo. Perfect landmark!

Hah, even as much as I (and the rest of the world!) make fun of it, I do love Buffalo. :-*

Im not in Buffalo group but I know for a fact that an application can stay in "Application Received" although its actually "In Process". My husband just had his interview on 20 March in New Delhi, they have his medicals and obviously since he was called for the interview its being process, yet it stayed on "application received" in regards to ECAS until yesterday. AT the end fo the interview he was told he was apporved for the visa and would get it in 15 days, I assumed ECas would jump straight to "Decision Made" but no, now only is it "In Pocess" So its definetely improper updating of the system.

Oh when you get your passport request you can actually just show up at Buffalo and get it all wrapped up? No need to send it in and wait?
