Peoples,
I had my police certificates dropped off at the embassy 2 weeks ago (10 biz days). Today I woke up and as always I checked my email first thing, and HELLO! Passport request! Gonna send it off today and will book flights as soon as the it comes back, in about 2 weeks. The plan is to land in late May, probably around the 23rd.

Woo-hooooo! I mean, *splendid*.

We celebrated by opening up a nice ice cold bottle of pink cava! It was sooooooo nice, but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) for me my husband isn't so big on the sparkling wine, so guess who finished the bottle It was really nice though...even if I had a bit of a hangover the next day.

My passport arrived in london on March 4, 32 days ago if you include the day it arrived (which i do because it was 9am!) Hoping to have it back this week. I heard from london last week that it would be posted at the end of the week, so hopefully it was. Fingers crossed for you aswell!

Yes please I keep waiting to hear yours has arrived because then I know ours should follow shortly. My husband really hates being without his passport (though I guess this is true for anyone) so it makes him nervous that he doesn't really know where it is. Up to this point everything is in the hands of CIC...but once the passport is back with a visa, then decisions are in our hands and we can finally start making some choices about when we are going to move to Canada. Looking forward to that day

Celebration? Let's see... There is the wedding reception that me mum-in-law will be throwing us in September in Ontario (we had one when we got married, but it was modest and many couldn't come); there is also the trip we'll be taking to visit my best friend and some relatives in Tijuana (the happiest place on Earth, according to Krusty the Clown); and I don't know, we'll see what else. I do plan to go on a bender with my sisters before leaving

@ whitehorse - hehe My husband feels the same way about wine! There's no better time to relax a little then when you get through this process!

@ NAFTA.couple - That sounds awesome! I've only been to Tijuana once when I was a young teenager, and it seemed crazy busy. But we were in the tourist parts right across the border. My parents are planning to have a belated wedding reception/family dinner for us when we can go there, too.

waiting for Initial Assesment....I sent off hubby's FBI check and a bank draft for the right of perminant residence fee (didn't know you could pay the whole thing all at once) so hope it doesn't delay the process too much...how long does it usually take from getting AOR to Initial Assesment?

hehe I'm nervous to even mention timelines, as someone was upset with me yesterday for it. However, of the 4 IA's our Buffalo group has received so far, one was one week later, and three were two weeks later.

The date on mine is 2 weeks after the AOR/In Process, and it took a week for it to get to me through the mail.
