Thank you! New Delhi is 80% 6 mths but my time line is as follows:
(as per ecas)

Rec'd app in New Delhi on Jan 10.
Started processing it on Feb 25.
Approved and stamped visa on March 4.

Fast omg!!!! And we were not the only ones..other ppl had fast processing too.

So be positive it may not be 18 mths...it can be sooner!! A LOT sooner. Good luck Gary & to everyone! Nobody should be separated frm their loved ones. Take care.

Just out of curiosity...

Does anyone know WHY Buffalo is so slow? (I have my own silly theories that have nothing to do with anything really, but I grew up - and still technically live - in the Buffalo suburbs, so I am allowed to make fun of it, hah! ;D )

I'm assuming because of the minimal distance between Mississauga and Buffalo (approx. an hour an a half drive), the files are transferred via courier/mail directly to the building (it's literally 5 minutes from the Peace Bridge to the HSBC building) versus sent by air... I could be completely wrong though. There are many other things that make me think it should be MUCH faster than it is...

I know, I know, I'm being impatient. I just can't help it! :-[

Hi, I have never commented on this forum, however I have found it helpfu to read and to see the different processing times. So I thought I would throw mine into the mix for future applicants.

We started the process December 3 2010
Transfer to mexico Jan 7 2011
In Process Feb 14 2011
PPR March 18 2011

We went outland and the Visa Office is Mexico City

Good luck to all who are going through the process and those who will be soon.

hehe We're all impatient. I have a few theories about why they are so slow. One, it takes a heck of a lot of time when they have to stop every 10 minutes to say... "Hey, Billy, you have got to see this picture!" And, "Wow, Jane, listen to what this guy said in a text to his girlfriend..."

;) No, I'm sure that they are the absolute picture of professionalism. They are probably overworked and understaffed, like many other work places.

I'm hoping for more AOR's for our group. By the end of the month all of our December group should have received AOR's from the Buffalo office.

Hi Float! Congrats on the progress, and thanks for dropping us a note! That's pretty fast processing. We have one other couple in our group that is going through the Mexico City office, and I am sure that your post will be good news for them. When are you or your partner planning to land? :)

OMG! That's my worst fear. I bet Buffalo is gonna have a field day with my application. My fiance calls me "poopy fart" (don't ask!), and all our emails start out something like: "Hey poopy fart, I miss you so much."

So embarrassing. :-[

Hah, if that's the case, our chat logs should have them rolling. Or scratching their heads in complete confusion...

I hope they have a sense of humour... ;D

Yeah, the wait is definitely starting to take it's toll that's for sure. It's so difficult to not be together and have your lives in the hands of someone else.

Hi,

New to all of this and we thought we would participate.

Our application for outside of canada spousal sponsorship (my wife is a UK resident) was recieved.
December 9th 2010 in Mississauga
January 31st I was approved as a sponsor (decision made)
February 9th London received PR application and Medical results received

We've heard nothing since as my wife is visiting here while we go through the process and of course will not overstay etc.
What is the rest of the process like? How long and what should we expect? She has no criminal history at all and has not lived in any other country.

Thanks in advance from the Crazy Canuck and Batty Brit :)

Ok now I'm confused. The letter says payment required of 490$. When I go back to my orginial recpt, I paid 550$ online in Nov.
What????

Ok I figured it out...I thought I had paid all fees up front. Guess I didnt. So I have to pay the PPR fees now. I will do in a couple minutes online.

Once paying the fees for PPR does anyone know how long it will take for PPR? Just curious....

Hi Inl. :) Welcome to the thread! We have a few others in this thread going through the London office, so they should be able to give you some idea of how their applications are progressing. I know that two of them have already received their PPR's, and two of them are still waiting. It sounds like you received your Aknowledgement of Receipt in February? You should be at about the same place in process as MandP and derwig from this group.

@ Kaz - Aw, that stinks! Yeah, there's the two fees. In another thread I found this:

BeShoo said:
The fees are on the site but it's $75 for the sponsorship processing and $475 for the applicant fee for a total of $550. There is another $490 for the RPRF (Right of Permanent Residence Fee), but you can choose to wait and pay that when it's approved if you want, though paying it later might cause a delay.
I'm not positive how long it will delay you. Hopefully it won't take that long for you, because I think you're pretty much done.
