Hi All

A couple of questions, not sure if anyone will be able to help??

1) Why has almost everyone applying through London heard sometime ago and for me there has been no change!!??!

2) Should I be able to log into Ecas using my (the applicants) details? currently I only seem to be able to access using my girlfriends (the sponsors) details.

3) where would I stand If I decided to go to Canada before I got my PPR and Visa? what would be the chance of them allowing me in if I had only booked a one way flight?

Any help on this would be much appreciated. She is starting to go mental!!!!

Some of the October thread people only got passport requests in Feb and March. What does your ecas say. Does it say in process?

2) Should I be able to log into Ecas using my (the applicants) details? currently I only seem to be able to access using my girlfriends (the sponsors) details.

I am the one being sponsored and I still can't log in using my details, only my husbands, the sponsor

3) where would I stand If I decided to go to Canada before I got my PPR and Visa? what would be the chance of them allowing me in if I had only booked a one way flight?

Chances are they won't even let you check in if you only have a one way flight booked. I learned this the hard way on a visit a few years back, and ended up having to buy a return ticket at the airport, very pricey! However, I don't see there being any problem in you 'visiting' before you get your PPR. Just make sure you have the return flight, even if you don't use it. I am in canada, sent my Passport to london from here, others have too.

Any help on this would be much appreciated. She is starting to go mental!!!!

My Ecas still only says that it has been recieved and that my medical results were recieved and has not been updated for a long time now (not even in process yet).

Ah that makes me a little less concearned that you also dont have your own login for ecas.

As for going before I get it, its probably not looking likely given the requirement to purchase a return flight! Think it would be hard to convince the immigration officials that it was a temporary visit with a one way flight and three 32kg bags!!!

On a side note, has anyone else noticed that the applicant's client number seems to be one digit higher than the sponsor's client number? Just curious. That was the case with mine. It was the same as my sponsors, just one higher on the last number.

yeah that would be a mistake to take all that luggage.
I thought it was only woman that couldnt travel light?!

Can't you survive with one big suitcase of things? I did the first time I 'visited'. And you'll find you acquire things while you're here. Plus clothes are much cheaper here!

Also my ecas never changed to in process. Just 'we have received...... etc' to decision made.

Ah good stuff! I didn't want to say too much about to yet so as not to make anyone stress more so glad you heard finally!

Not sure what the next part we'll hear is? I assume a month away until we hear something further?

I e-mailed Buffalo regarding my file (with the help of client ID, D.O.B., Kit # etc) , we had sent an additional document they mentioned in my sponsorship approval letter. So I e-mailed them to confirm they've received it and if we want to send a few more supporting documents, where can we send them. It was basically to know how close they are to creating a file number for us...This is the response I got - -

We are currently creating family class applications received January 7, 2011. You will recieve a letter of acknowledgement upon the creation of your file in Buffalo.

Due to high volumes, we cannot acknowledge receipt of email, fax, regular correspondence (applications, payments, documents or information) or medical exam results.

If you have recently submitted documents or information to this office, we will update your file accordingly, if needed.

If we require additional documents, we will contact you.

We are done. We were approved on March 4th 2011 & will be landing in July.
