Does this mean I should check spiro's PPR on the table? ;)

Nyssa, you are correct on assuming Buffalo.

I'm curious...the "first stage of approval"...is that generally when we get a PPR? Or does the PPR come first? The CIC website says First Stage of Approvals is taking 8-9 months I believe. I was thinking it wouldn't take that long before I could legally reside in Canada.

Yup! In Manila PPR comes together with the AOR.

Thank you for the clarification jeans22, I modified it on the previous table.

iLoveSnow - "First Stage Approval" only applies to Inland applicants, I always thought it was about Sponsorship Approval or AOR, but turns out it doesn't apply to us at all! :)

Also, on a random note, I'm wondering why someone gave me a negative for apparently no reason at all... :(

I give you positives all the time. :(

Me too!! Got my first negative point out of nowhere... Not sure why... Weird... I guess someone here on the forum is just tripping out and giving negative points to people for no apparent reason. Hehehe... :) Oh well...

AngelB - Thank you so much!
jeans22 - I wouldn't be too bugged if I could figure out what warranted it, maybe a controversial post or something obnoxious I might have said/done... but I was gone all night, didn't post anything! Oh well! Just one of those things ::)

I get negatives all the time because I always seem to have a knack for pissing people off. I think I'm a little non-emotional and very fact-based which means I can lack tact when typing my opinions. Funnily enough, I get positive ratings too when it looks like no one is agreeing, which makes me think there are people out there who agree but are too afraid to rock the boat.

Whether I get positive or negative karma, I don't really care. I know who I am in "real life" (friendly!) and that's all I need to know :)

Thanks again nyssa! I've learned quite a bit in the few days I've been on here. Can't wait till I understand the entire process! LOL I know I'm always asking lots of questions...but here is another...sorry...does anyone know what our status is once we "land"? We aren't premanent residents then are we? If we are...then we don't need to apply for a work permit correct? If we aren't...I'm assuming that we do in fact need a work permit...

Once you land you are officially a permanent resident of Canada and elligible to work, study, and receive health care (after any provincial waiting times). :)

I really hope we see some progress next week!

Thankyou guys :)

as i said so..we're having a hard time completing the docs that the VO is requesting us to provide. 2 weeks processing for the brunei police check of my hubby plus shipping days from there to my husband's place and another to manila, 2 weeks for his permanent elem&high school records, missing voter's id etc. and we were only given 45 days!!. We received the letter last sept 14 so that's how many days left for us to complete those docs. :-X :-X I cant wait to get these stuffs done coz it really makes me sick :(. I hate waiting.

It's kuya po. :) And I'm only 27 years old.

Anyways, I don't think that they'll be asking me as much stuff as your husband's cos I think they only ask for voter's ID and school records if the certificate of birth was registered late. Mine wasn't. Also, I didn't live in another country for more than a year so I only had to submit police clearance from the Philippines.

By the way, when did your ecas change from "Not Available" to "In Process"??

Thanks, spiro! And Good Luck!!! :)
