I was also able to log on to e-cas today using my Receipt # and my (sponsor) info. They received my app July 26 and decision made Aug 24 with letter in the mail. Really really hope it gets here soon and is approved.

Congrats people, ours arrived on the 27th so by the look of it we should hear something on e-CAS in the next couple of days. We are getting really excited, it will be nice to have some sort of official confirmation that it is on the way rather than just a delivery receipt. Something small to soothe the waves of paranoia!

I got the official letter today -- sponsorship has been approved!!

I was surprised (I guess I hadn't read about this before) that there was such a lengthy discussion of the responsibilities of the sponsor. I wasn't expecting a 3 page letter and a copy of the sponsorship agreement - I thought we kept the original so that we'd have a copy as a reminder of the obligations of sponsorship.

Anyways - sponsorship approved and file transferred as of August 19th!! Woohoo!!

My wife was surprised too of her new found obligations... I guess she hadn't considered it all as our only priority is to be together.

I did (jokingly) tell her that now she has to fulfill any demands i make of her or else! lol.

My husband (applicant) didn't realize what was involved for me as the sponsor until I showed him all the forms I filled out and he asked about the timeline. He seemed a bit shocked that I had to be approved as well.

Yeah, mine clearly said that it was the original and they returned it to us (We sent it instead of a copy) and said that they were returning the original as they kept a copy. Hmm.

Updating, lots of good news this week!
Sorry for the delay - my cousins is getting married and my kids are in the wedding, I'm the photographer and making the cake. And designated favor and decor creator/maker. Whew!

We need more to fill in on the IN PROCESS area now
Buffalo-ers sounds like its' taking 2 months after transfer for the file to be looked at from the random hitting of updates I've found on previous month posts. October seems so far away!

The reason I ask is because on my wife's ecas tracker they have spelled her last name wrong I called in CIC this morning and they recommended me to send New Delhi an email explaining what happened as its an outland application so they do not have access to the application from here.

so finally i received the approval letter stating they have forwaded the app to cic- new delhi.
now i would like to know what would be the next step? how long before i hear anything form them?
if interview is waived, how long would it take before they ask us to send the passport in?

Ok correct me if I am wrong anyone , it is approx three and half weeks from the day the papers have been transferred to new delhi that they might get the request for passport although which does not guarantee that the interview is waived, its just new delhi likes to have the passport early to expedite the process and its roughly a month after sending the passport that ppl get it stamped if all goes well. This is the kind of time line i have been reading for new delhi . Good luck.

if i go see my wife and live there till she get her passport back and bring her with me, wud they question that?
wud it make the process go slow if they find out im in india with her?

If you are a Canadian Citizen you are free to do whatever you like and actually once her process has begun i would suggest just wait till she gets her passport request and I believe it would not be a big deal to go and get her and be there for couple of months after that If her case is settled with in the 3 months just remember on the website it says 50% of cases are likely settled with in the first 3 months so you would really want to be in that 50% . I believe if you are a PR you have to be in Canada while applying for her but once her case has been transferred you are free to travel.

I am a Canadian citizen so i guess im ok to go visit her now. i am hoping that they ask for her passport by sep the 15th?
