Have received our letter this morning in the post from CPC-M saying our file was transfered to London. 8 days after they said it was sent.

Officially on the next step!

Thanks!! But now that I don't have to check E-CAS (and I've given up on wait time update) how can I drive myself crazy checking things while I wait...?

Ok i was checking ecas using the wrong info... Since I'm a PR, it didn't let me log in using my receipt number for some reason. So I just tried logging in using my pr card number and sure enough the sponsorship application showed up

DECISION MADE AUG 24 for my application that was received AUG 20. Hopefully we can move onto the next step now. Will probably get more details once i receive the letter..... Glad to see something on ecas though.

I still haven't gotten the letter yet! I'm starting to get worried because our address is formatted really strangely in e-CAS:

Street number
STATE
city, zip
COUNTRY

How long should I wait before calling and informing them of the improper ordering of my address? also, there's a slight typo in the city name, that I don't think should make a difference as everything else is correct...but it would certainly make me feel a lot better if we got the letter...

does anyone know what happens if the letter from CIC is returned to them for bad address??

Our mailing address is also displayed incorrectly on ecas with the format wrong and letters missing from the postcode, but the letter from CPC-M arrived safely here in the UK with the correct address.

I was going to panic, but it appears as though just ecas is wrong.

As a side note, it also shows my wife's home address as Mississauga! lol.

Ok phew!! I mean, any human should know how to write an address, right? I know there are differences between countries, but that seems to me like a piece of information people processing mail from all over the world should know. But there I go making assumptions about CIC staff again....

Yeah, I'm the sponsor and it shows my home address as CPC-M, too. I think they must do that if the sponsor is not in Canada yet? I'm going to change it to my parent's address pretty shortly.

My only other concern is that there is a typo in the city name. It says St. Pitersburg, FL. not St Petersburg, FL. I figure that since the zip is ok, it should be fine - it should appear as just a typo to the US post office.... I guess I'll call in next week if we haven't received it by then.

I just got a phone call from home and my mom said she got a letter from CIC in my name. I immediately asked her to open it (though she isn't usually allowed to read my mail lol). I was read the entire letter and it says that I have been approved as a sponsor and my application has been forwarded to New Delhi... wooohooooooo.. Thank you God

Now next prayer is for an interview waiver and quick ppr!

i was able to check the status online and this is wat is says,

We received your application to sponsor xxxxxxxxxxxxxx on July 21, 2010.

We sent you a letter on August 24, 2010 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

does this mean that the app has been approved and forwarded to cic new delhi?
or i still have to wait for the letter and see if its a good news or bad news?

I had the exact same msg and I did receive the letter as mentioned in my previous post. Don't worry. It most likely means that your application has been forwarded to New Delhi.
