Well, my normal 'every hour' routine check of ecas has finally returned an update;

"We received your application July 16th" and a "decision made" with a letter sent in the post dated August 18th.

Now to wait for that letter... ::)

Finally, I can now log in on e-cas. A decision has been made. I still have to wait for the letter in the mail :-X

"We received your application to sponsor XXXXXXXX on July 16, 2010. We sent you a letter on August 19, 2010 about the decision on your application".

I can log in now too!! Maybe it just takes a few days to process that they've received a file.

"We received your application to sponsor XXXXXXXXXXX on July 19, 2010.

We sent you a letter on August 19, 2010 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

and Can-USA-97 - My home address is listed as CPC-M too, my mailing address is listed as my current address in Florida. I forget, did you change that on e-CAS?? I'll happily change it to my parent's address in Canada - maybe that will help??

Hey congrats to all who have heard back recently!!! It's really exciting stuff :)

can_usa1997 can you please update our timeline? It was received on July 13 and transferred to Buff on Aug 16.

Are any of your partners planning to join you in Canada while you wait out the PR? My husband is wanting to come "visit" in October and then we will have him "flagpole" (is that the right term?) at Buffalo once he receives the PPR. Does anyone know how/(if) we can change his mailing address to our address here so that all correspondance from Buff he will be able to receive in Canada? Or since we are outland does this have to be a US address? I know someone has mentioned this before in a thread but I am still a bit confused. Can anyone please explain in more detail?

Thanks in advance!

Yes - My partner is going to "come visit" in October too. I'm moving back to Vancouver in September, officially. I'm going to go fill out all the necessary paperwork for health care coverage etc, and then I'm flying back to Florida, and he's going to drive back up with me, with our dog.

I think when you receive the AOR from Buffalo, it will include instructions on how to change your address, as well as barcodes that you can attach to any additional information that may be required by the B'lo office. It does not have to be a US address- applicants have no residency requirements. Actually, aside from the AOR, the B'lo office also likes to communicate via email. So, if your partner has an email address listed on his application, they may contact him that way, as well. We're planning on changing my partner's home address to his sister's house in Texas, and his mailing address to our address in Vancouver (*my* address), once we receive the AOR. I just hope the AOR comes before we move at the end of September!! Otherwise, I guess we'll be emailing buffalo with that information and hoping that our mail forwarding works out ok.

Yea my hubby is doing the same, "visiting" until PR is granted then going across to Bufalo in person when we get the PPR and turning right around at the border.

We are calling sept 25 our d-day, hehe.

this is our timeline:

Sept 10th - my mom is coming down here to help me pack up. My partner's still working full-time and I'm too pregnant to pack up a house on my lonesome.

Sept 20 - my mom and I are traveling together back to Vancouver. Everything will be packed, so I can 'officially return' and give my list of goods to follow to customs (that way, I can bring some of my partner's stuff with us early - it's all 'our' stuff anyways, as we've been living together for years).

Sept 27 - I'm flying back to Florida.

Sept 29th - movers come pick up our stuff

And.....I guess the next day, Sept 30th, we'll start driving. We're planning on driving pretty slowly. I'm going to be almost 6 months pregnant by then, and will need a lot of bathroom breaks etc. Plus, we are probably going to stop to visit my partner's family on the way. In BC, you can be out of Canada for 30 days during your health care waiting period without disqualifying your application, so we figure that we can take as long as we want to drive, as long as we make it back to Vancouver by October 27th....

At the border, we haven't decided yet whether to ask for a visitor's record or not. We probably will. My partner's employer is willing to keep him 'on the books' until the end of the year, and write a letter stating that he's been granted an unpaid leave of absence.

I'm definitely crossing our fingers that we get our AORs before the end of September!!! Hopefully buffalo will speed up again a little now that the summer is over.....I'm so anxious to get the mail today!! I've been checking every few minutes!

No need to "visit" my wife, she's living here in the UK with me at present. Which also leads me to assume that they were happy with her 'intent to return to Canada upon successful PR approval' and that she resides 'exclusively outside of Canada'...

Of course, that's assuming that the letter in the post is good news...

Actually, despite all logic to the contrary, the sponsor's intent to return to Canada is actually adjudicated at the visa office where the PR application is processed. I know - it makes no sense, but there have been reports of several people refused a visa on the grounds of insufficient evidence that the sponsor would return to Canada, and obviously those people were deemed eligible to sponsor if the application made it to the visa office.

Really?! Damn!

Oh well, fingers crossed it won't be a problem anyway as my wife is starting her new job (actually, it's her old one before moving here) later this year and already has the contract, so hopefully that will be sufficient...
