when was everyone able to log onto ecas?? im getting a bit worried (probably over nothing) the recieved mine on the 28th and its now the 31st and everyone else seemed to be able to open ecas a month or a couple of days after

I was able to log in with my client ID number that was on the letter but not my receipt number until almost a week later.

My parents actually phoned the concierge in their building and asked him to check the mail since they are away... letter received and I'm approved as a sponsor. Yay.

Will have to wait until they get back to check the ID number but seems to take a coulpe of weeks before it switches to "in process" any way...

@kelsey - I could log on with my reciept number 2 days after the decision was made. I submitted two days ahead of you and only just received the letter yesterday so really don't think you need to worry yet... the ECAS updating seems pretty random. Hopefully you'll get your letter soon then can try getting on with your ID number.

I was approved to sponsor my husband Aug. 19th and according to e-cas, the letter was sent to me the same day. Up to now, I still haven't received the letter. I called CIC to find out what the decision was just to calm my nerves down I knew I was approved but I wanted to see it in writing.
I think the letter was either sent to someone else by mistake or just got lost . Should I call Canada Post to tell them that I've been expecting an important mail but never got to me?

When I checked on E-CAS I discovered that my mailing address has been incorrectly entered into the system. In my case it was only one letter in the postal code that was incorrect so the letter arrived okay but I'm sure mistakes happen so double check on E-CAS if it's correct in case there's a problem for future mailing. If they've got it right and you still haven't received it early next week then maybe ask CIC to resend just so you have the ID number etc. Can't imagine the Canada Post is going to care much but then maybe I've just been living in Africa too long

After living in Canada I vowed never to critisise Britain's postal sytem ever again. Even Australia isn't that bad compared to Canada, tracking our application online it took less than 48 hours for our package to make it from rural Queensland to Vancouver but another week before it was delivered to Missisauga.

Will the cic transfer your file in your visa office even if your eligibility to sponsor wasn't approved? or they will just transfer your file in your visa office once you are approved/eligible to sponsor?

It depends - there's is a box to check on one of the sponsorship forms to indicate whether you want your application returned to you, and fees refunded if you are not approved to sponsor. If you checked that box, then your application will be returned to you. If you didn't, then your application will be transferred to the visa office, where it will most likely be denied due to the sponsorship not being eligible.

thanks minna. Coz i noticed most of the applicant's timeline here in the forum that once cic transfered their file in their respective visa offices, they were also approved to sponsor....so just wondering if cic also tranfer files in visa offices even if an applicant is not approved to sponsor.

congrats just woundering did u recieve a letter today?? and when were you able to log onto ecas?? i havnt got info from either, mine was recieved the same day as yours and im starting to freak out a bit..
