I am so happy they're approving sponsors in about a month! I wonder why they're not posting that on the site. Maybe so people won't complain if it does fall at 42 days?

I'm guessing they give themselves a big buffer (almost 2 weeks), to ensure they don't get deluged by phonecalls - plus, they may occasionally take longer to approve (or deny) and probably 42 days is on the long side of the process, so that people don't get concerned. I mean, I'd rather think it would take 40 days, and wind up being approved sooner than be told it takes 30-40 days and spend that whole last ten days on edge and worried, you know??

I bet it's kind of like the airlines, that schedule delays into their flight times - they'll say it's a 4 hour and 20 minutes flight, when it's usually a 3 hour and 50 minute flight, to give themselves time for extra boarding or weather, or whatever, without having everyone on the plane all upset about being late, you know what I mean??

I have to agree - better to give extra time (and some might take that long, more complicated ones and perhaps that's why it's not updated last week) the way the files are handed out and things, allows them to as minna said - not have people asking /thinking there is an issue.

Can't remember exactly where I read it but on the Canada Immigration website somewhere it says the wait period includes an estimated mailing period of 10 days (so actually takes 32 days to approve, then they allow 10 days for getting the letter to you).

I've never been so happy on a Monday morning at 7:30am...I tried to log on to ecas this morning and was finally able to get through. They made their decision and a letter was sent August 13th. My application arrived on the 12th according to the mail service but they have the received date as July 13th.

Just a question, when is it considered AOR then? cuz´ in my case I believe the application was transfered on July 30th (when the sponsorship approval) and got my AOR on Aug 10th by email, also today Aug 16 got that same letter on the mail plus a request of my police certificate.

The letter explained that they wont continue to process my application until I send that police certificate...that sucks a little but ohh well I knew it was going to be like that.

In your case, they'd be the same (or we could use your Aug 16 day that you got it in the mail with for those who don't have email linked up)

hey is the AOR what u mentioned is sponsorship approval letter or a ifferent letter to sent by visa office to applicant??

because mine n ur appl'n date is same and also i believe u got ur ecas update one day after mine but in the above u mentioned that u got ur sponsorship approved on 31july ..

mine got approved on 03Aug2010 and sent to ND office the same day which is the same stated in the sponsorship approval leter sent to my husband...

i am yet to receive notifications from my visa office ...

I don't expect that I would be able to access ECAS yet but just to make sure I'm doing it right: I don't have a case number yet, just the online payment reciept (Rxxxxxxxxx)... so I can enter that right? And does the R need to be capitalized or anything picky like that?

I'm wondering if anyone here received their letter yet? They said that, the mailed mine on the 10th of Aug. Mail usually takes 3 to 4 days isn't it, especially I live near CPC-M. I'm just worried thats all. I want to know about the DM.
