Whoo-Hoo, boys and girls--
Let's update the chart. I tracked my immigration status yesterday, and I am officially "in process"!!! They started on the file on August 20, 2010. So, now I am very grateful to be in the system.

Finally, an American from June gets to be added to the chart. Now, if everything goes at a "normal" rate I should have PR status by Christmas.

But, I am affirming an "abnormal" rate. How about six weeks? That sounds doable given that we are both 52, have no children, have plenty of assets, never been arrested, neither of us even drink. . . .Someone has to be the "early bird", so I am hopeful it is us!!!

But, I also visualize the day when we will all be off the forum and this will be a distant memory.

At the same time, I am deeply grateful for people like RobsLuv, AllisonVSC, and the matthew guy who designed the e-cas tracker. Where would we all be without their expertise and guidance. Oh, and Leon and PMM. Thanks to all the "masters"!

Okay, good luck, June Thread. We are moving once again! :P 8) :-* :)

Congrats for your "IN PROCESS" Status Update :D

I got the same PDF from London this morning, I checked my emails at 8:30am and went out shopping, when I got home I checked them again at 11am and found an email from London...my head started to swim..and its taken me an hour to take in the info!!!

Mmmhmmm, I've slept on it and it still is sinking in... lovely feeling though.

I'm guessing the deadline for landing is something to do with medical dates? I did mine in May, and I have until May 2011 to land. Have you started thinking about how you're going to do it yet? I'm not flagpoling - am going on a short trip instead, and then it's job time - argh! :D :D

Congrats Lynw..I knew it would be good news for you also!!!

Funny thing is I started collecting application forms today whilst I was out shopping.. I am just looking for a part-time job in a Walmart or grocery store to start with because I have been out of work for 5 years and have a 3 1/2 year old starting Junior Kindergarten part-time in a few week..so can't do much more than that..then looking at a better job next year when our daughter is in school full-time :D

We are just going to take a day trip to buffalo...SO EXCITING I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Lets just say my face hurts from smiling!!!

That sounds like a good way to ease into working in Canada. I haven't wanted to "jinx" things by doing too much research into what I might do, but that's my next task while waiting for passport and then getting SIN number etc sorted out. This is going to be fun!

Wanders off also with huge silly grin.....

I submitted the application to sponsor my spouse june 18, 2010. it was received june 21, 2010, i received a letter syaing am eligible to sponsor, dated july 22, 2010.

I don't know whats going on any more, and on this forum i have read about people having to wait like 14 months and having re done medicals and police checks for their sponsorship applications, and i am getting extremely nervous...i am very scared...i hope everything works out!

Thank you..I think it depends on a few things...A) Your relationship status..we are married with a child together B) How much proof you submitted..and does the IO require more documents/an interview? C) The security checks..have you been in the Army, Worked for the Government etc.. D) Which Visa Office you went through.. E) HAVE ALL THE IO'S GONE ON HOLIDAY LOL...

The processing time varies with each case..straight forward cases get processed quickly I would expect to hear something in a few weeks..even if its just an update on E-Cas

Which visa office you going through?

I am going through visa office in islamabad.

couple years ago my spouse had applied for immigration to canada but application was declined as the requirements on the point system were not met. also, applied for u.s. visit visa and was refused, in 09.

now im scared that those 2 factors might work to our disadvantage! :S

any ideas anybody

I shouldnt think they would reflect badly unless there has been an inadmissibility issue the points system is different..however an interview may be required

yea well now thats what im scared of, interveiw will delay things further would it not :(. i was in the hopes that it would all work out atlesat by february 2011. Now reading what others have to say is making me wonder...and panick

thanks for all your help though!

CEEGEE how did you track your status? Is it through e-cas? Did you use the receipt # and your information or your sponsor's info?
