Congrats for getting the PPR. You have been waiting for a long time. People with sponsorship approved in 2nd week of March have already received visa (airforcerally). I hope they stamp the visa and return back to you next week.

Ouch Not All!! :o

We husbands r good :D

Hey Guys,
Not sure if anyone has gone through this info. But I found this to be quite informative on the background checks. BC is not only limited to checking with local police or local embassies.

Cheers!!

Hold on... i forgot to mention.
I did not include the Birth Certificate it took 4-5 months for her to get it. I did this as my friend never submitted and i had to do the same thing.

It is included in the checklist but most of the INFO is found in your Marriage certificate/Passport, so no harm.
Unless they ask for it you are good...BUT if they do you can NOT get it within a month ( depending on where u live )
I have not read any cases in ND asking for a Birth Certificate as it is very very complicated unless you are in a city, born in a registered hospital, have records etc

All is Good.

Even when i went to london, i just submitted my school leaving certificate and they provided me the visa.

That's exactly what I think, they read everything, and I think they read it the same day we send the query, maybe 2 days ok.. but they wait until 2-4 weeks before they reply to us....

Also how did you find out that they process 3000 app per year? I was thinking maybe they do WAY more than 3000 per year..

I hope they are close to finalizing my case and have alraedy sent the PPR... or maybe the CSE I sent will trigger them to ask for PPT via email just like case with fprince.. and then they'll stamp before June 20.. so I can go to India.. and bring my wife .. my love of life.. right here on June 29

@ DNT2003.

Common DNT. You belive that they have not read the CSE?? They have read it and that's the reason they are calling proactively. I mean It's great that they called for PP, but to say that they have not read the CSE. But on the flip side, we also have to think that people exploit this CSE option. You can't expect a VO to reply to all the e-mails. So they see the e-mail, if some action is required then they reply otherwise they just leave it like that and take a look at the file.

If you think they process close to 3000 spouse PR applications each year. Which means 250 applications per month. So they don't reply to a CSE, because once they reply to CSEs, the message will go out to applicants that they check CSEs. But I am sure that they look at it. I have see a lot of cases in trackitt forum where their file saw some action after a CSE but no reply to CSE.

I am sure they have looked at your case and must be close to finalizing. It seems to me your VO is someone who requests PP after all the checks are through.

Cheers!!

I see FebPR already got to your query, but they explicitly asked for Birth Certi, so should send the birth certy.. but I remember when I was gonna apply through that agent who took my stuff.. did ask me about if I have School Leaving certi.. and did not ask me about birth certi as I did not have it. but I took matters in my own hands.. and asked my wife to get me a birth certi.. I did have the school leaving certi (but its in Gujarati language).

DNT, we live so closeby...you can always come visit me....BEER !
House needs to be clean and all evidence of Beer should be gone before she lands...
until then we can make our usual mess....Thanks for the great info on OCI,

@ fprince...

i hope u didnt give the link to this forum to ur wife...cuz all she needs to do is go this particular page and find the evidence ;)....

Lil more info on why BC are getting complicated for us...
Everyone who applies for H1B/visitor visa i guess is required to submit them...parents/grandparents etc and a lot of other countries also insist on this..
so in the last few years more and more ppl apply for the birth certificates/marriage certificate from the Govt.
It the volume as people in the 60,70,80,90, 2000 generation didnt need one then but now everyone is applying for it and a huge backlog.
And what complicates things is that if the applicant was delivered through a mid-wife, the hospital where u were born is not there anymore etc..in this scenario it will go to court where
your parents would need to prove that you were born on this day to them blah blah blah..my wife's parents had 4 hearings and she applied in Aug and got the certificate in Jan 2011 !

I guess CHC ND knows abt this as this is a very very complicated case when your birth is not registered but you still have a PP which has your DOB.

And in India we always refer to the DOB in your high school certificate and not the PP..maybe these days they use the PP DOB but until 2005 it was always ur school certificate.
In fact when i applied for my passport in 2003 i only submitted my +2 certificate which has the DOB.

The whole process is a Mess as they can not deny you a BC when you have a Indian Passport... one more thing which needs a fix is the BC/marriage certificate process.
If you do not have one DO APPLY for one now as i think you will need it in future...OCI etc and u never know when they will make it mandatory as its a new generation now
where everyone has a BC.

I don't know the exact time. My wife called me when it was 4:30 pm in India. So maybe between 4 to 4:30 pm India time. They just asked her to send the passport. I will confirm this from her.
