they are being so cheap man, Rs 5 stamp???? I guess the registered mail wouldn't cost them more than Rs 50...? thats about one dollar, I know if you were to add everything it adds up in the end, but we pay them hefty fees for this whole process, they can ask us to pay them 1041 rather than 1040 so they can send the PPR with a REGISTEREd mail.

Does any one know actual charges for Registered Mail? (on average)

Makes so much sense...! even charge another $5 more for postage and I'm sure we'll happliy pay it to ensure we get the mail on time!

You've been waiting for so long my friend, don't give up, and true about the part where it won't happen magically, but you are the role model for all of us.. I always use your example when I talk to my wife, and I tell her how you've been waiting since NOV 22, and we are just waiting since Feb 24th... and she calms a bit, but seriously something has to be done.... this isn't acceptable!!!

only if ND officials were lurking here then they would know what the hell we are going through.... we should write them a letter or something about their proceedure and process, and how its flawed all the way. They need to take immidiate actions, but then again you can't fight with the government... even if they LOSE its like they WON! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! ND REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!! :@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@

Also one other thing mostly those people after me who submitted their files have received a PPR, just in line is/are:
CAN_2011: Filed Feb 10, 2011 - FileXFer: Mar 22, 2011 - File Received by ND - Waiting for PPR
common_man: Filed: unknown - File Transfer: Feb 15, 2011 - eCAS: In Process (April 7, 2011)
DNT2003: Filed: Feb 23, 2011 - File Transfer: March 23, 2011 - File Received: April 05, 2011 - W8ting 4 PPR

Others who have filed after me got it is what bugs me, how is that even possible? BUT when I see:

Anyone interested to comment on my imaginative scenario which could have happened to me..and most likely looks like it did.

ND posts the PPR say 2-3 months ago and forgets to attach the postage stamp...( and by the way, ppl who got PPR do they attach a stamp or does the envelope already has a stamp like a inland letter..which means they don have to attach a regular stamp, i hope this is how the envelope looks so no one needs to attach a stamp)....

so if this was the case, will the letter be held up in ND Post office? knowing Indian Post they don care if its immigration sending you a letter without a stamp...so letter is lost and CHC ND thinks applicant received it ?

So today I decided to do something about the PPR, I sent one of my cousine to the head post office (small city), and the other post office (village) (last stop before our house). We spoke to the manager of the head post office (small city), and luckly he is a friend of my cousine, he said it hasn't reach yet, and don't remember seeing anything, but as soon as its here he will call us... :)

Now I hope he calls before end of Saturday in India!!! that would really make me happy

Let's hope this works for you :)

I just contacted my MP again and explained that i am at 4 months 13 days in ND when the case should be finalized in 6 months.
I hope she calls me and inquires on my behalf. Have to see if this at least stirs things up as i have no hope of PPR..

Let's hope the MP does something fprince. I've got no idea how you are coping with this BS from ND - I would have gone really crazy.

so far I was the only person whos applicant got basically a suprise phone interview..so I guess we'll see wat goes down...they recieved the passport monday!!!!!!!1

While this is possible, if this was to happen and your PPR was lost in transit something else would have happened to your file by now. In the PPR, they give you a date by when you need to send them the passport and other docs (at least my wife had a date in her PPR) and it says "Failure to submit them within that time period could result in the refusal of your application". So I assume if they sent you a PPR and some sort of a deadline expired, they would review the file again and either re-request the PP & docs or refuse your application. Since none of that has happened for you, I think it is just ND BS that you are experiencing.

Talking to my wife and father in-law by phone, I did find out that some
couples were being denied at the interview process. Her father was outside
the embassy talking to a few people who had finished their interviews that
morning as well. One couple was denied because they felt that it was not
a genuine marriage because there was not enough photgraphic evidence.
They sent about 30 pictures. I'm not sure about the quality of the photos,
but my instinct was to send as many photos of us mostly hugging or kissing
while we were on the honeymoon.

To Speed Post a normal letter from ND to ND costs Rs.12/- To other cities, the max is Rs.25/- If you wanted an acknowledged proof of delivery, add another Rs.12/-. So, easily less than $1. They sure can use Speed Post and not Normal Post - it's just that they don't.

True, they did say application accepted, but I will be much happier when we get
visa throught the postal system. Which is now averaging 7 days, for the three
letters that we got so far. Delhi - near Chandigarh.

Absolutely agree fprince is the role model for all of us. I really like the way he is handling his situation, which really is a lot worse than any one of us.
