If I'm not mistaken, your passport is with CHC. You need your passport to do medicals. You will need to wait for them to send it back to you and ask you to do medicals again.

I think it is 6 months from the day that CPC-M receives your file. I remember Panda posting a link about this several months ago. My understanding is that for spouse/children the 6 months commences from the day the file is received by CPC-M. In contrast, for other family sponsorship cases, the 6 months commences from the day the file is received in ND. If I am able to find the link I will post it later tonight. Maybe others can provide more input....if you recall such a post by Panda.

Its 44 days for assessment of sponsor and 6 months for applicant assessment.

that means it can take maximum of 44 days to transfer the file to ND and 6 months from application recieved by ND...

I wouldn't rely on the eCAS at all, there is times it has given good news, and there is time it has yeild no results, ppl get their PPT back and it still says APP received.

Just hope they send you the passport back soon with the visa on it :)

Hi Deepiv,

My Wife's passport also reached ND on monday. Ecas says "Application Recieved". I guess waiting is the only option.

The question which was asked is WHEN does step 2 start?
Referring the ND website it clearly says step 2 starts the day CPC -M approves your application.

I highly doubt that, also I remember reading the medical form which we fill and take it with us.. "name appears on passport" the check list... (country specif) not sure where.. but anyways.. you can take the certified copy of the passport with you, I did make sure my wife keeps a notorized copy of the passport with the stamps and what not, just incase.

DNT2003

When my wife got her meds done, she had to have the original passport. We had asked coz we were initially planning on applying for the PCC and getting the meds done at the same time, but we had to hold off on getting both done at the same time because of that. They might accept notarized copy, we didn't explore that option.

Very interesting, great information to know. This is not mentioned in most of the places they provide this type of information.
