@ DNT,

Just apply for the new pp and don't have to tell. Mine was expiring in August 2011 and I needed a new one to come to India. I just went for it and havent mentioned a thing.

I didn't ask to go in the same room. He went alone when he was called, mentioned I was there and that was it. I was not called for an interview at all. It was very smooth and they asked him only questions on the application. She had it in front of her and she typed his answers as he spoke.

Yes all the communications- as part of questions and answers are again entered by using same tool - CAIPS!!!

yes gagansingh it can be done on any working days or it can be scheduler jobs (program) running on weekend to update our file. As I said in my case it was updated on Sunday @ 11:30 pm EST.

Hi nylalisa,

Thanks for the input, and I was actually on the phone with CIC this afternoon before I read this post, and confirmed with them, and the lady on the phone advised that the passport has nothing to do with the application , so I repeated my self "so I can apply for a new passport and forget about notifying CIC of this change?" and she replied "YES"

enjoy the fireworks in India, I can't wait to go back to India to bring my wife with me.... if not I'm thinking of making a trip again in June
