@challenger485

Technically, ours would be about 5 months old now.
They didn't ask for a new one.

drdave, just a quick q, didn't u ubmit ur wife's divorce papers with the application? Did ND ask more documentation on that or just another divorce cert?

I didn't submit the divorce papers with the original application. My wife first marriage was married 5 years ago and
they lived together only 21 days. The divorce was granted in 2008. An inconvience that will slow down the process
by a couple of weeks.

@brin

I think Delhi is investigating anybody who has had a divorce in the last three years.

Thanks for the reply! I do read from the forum that sometimes ND asks for the actual divorce application though you have already submitted ur divorce cert...so was just curious. Thanks again!

Hi Khurshe
I am happy for you that your claim was accepted, i am not sure if most people on this thread can help you.
But i have seen a thread for islamabad where there is a lot of conversation going on, you should visit that thread as well.
Timelines are different bY Visa office and by status in Canada. I wish you all the very best.

@ FPRINCE

HAHA yes, mine is more complicated i guess
* It is my first marriage and so is for my wife
* We are from the same city and same mother tounge
* Age no issue
* Both are christians
* she has never travelled outside India
* and no one has kids
* all doucmentation was provided

I wonder how in your analysis i came up to be a complicated case, just cos my PPR is/was/maybe lost or my file is sitting somewhere can't make my case complicated.
I appreciate the fact that you are doing your analysis, but that is not how CHC ND analyse cases..
Simple cases can be lost and forgotten and complicated cases can be done in a few months...it all depends on your luck, visa officer and India post.
I have been on this forum for more than 3 months now and have read so many cases, math is not a factor in deciding a case.

I agree to you ..it is not based on math..but purely on luckk..... I have seen so many people getting visa even in complicated case....and simple cases take longer time...it is all about visa officer who handles our case.....if he/she is lenient then u get thru otherwise u r stuck.....it is also same for cic mississauga.....for some people they have returned the whole docs back while for some they have just asked for that missing docs and they are good to go..so it is all luck......waiting is a bad game :(....but we will win..... ;D

Agreed my friend..everyone has their own theroy. But my only wish is that NO ONE ends up in the 20% of delayed cases like a few i have known here including me.
But if it happens, we have to be prepared. Nothings wrong, its just that you were not that lucky as the other 80%
To be honest with you ND can not issue visa's within 4 months and say they need 6-8 months, there are gonna be a very few unlucky members who will be delayed.
And asking PPR right away is a new trend from 2011, it can change anytime..they might go back to their normal way where you go app rec-in process-ppr-visa, we just can not predict when and how they make changes.
Mine is for sure a file which was opened and forgotten ( cos it is not even 1% complicated ) but if the VO thinks it is 100% complicated then so it is...what do we do
all the best my friend and good work 8)

Dr Dave..I like your analysis... Think.. "lost in transit" should be added in the list that defines complication....of course its not in our control.. but hmmm it gets complicated...

You got that right on buddy ! I like your strong attitude

Lost in transit is the worst, you never know if a PPR was sent..you try to contact them after 2 months and they won't reply
you just have to wait until they contact you again and ask you " where the hell is your passport"? we have waited for 3 months
i think this is exactly where my case is heading. once i get a reply back from my MP..they are gonna be like "ohh your PPR was sent Jan 20th? didnt you get it" i will then be like yeah "fcuk india post"

But how many times does lost in transit happen, maybe only for the unlucky ones who are destined for that..so its a very rare issue on this thread i would say..
but forgotten at chc nd can happen..open, forget, after 3 months again find it, then process has happened for the 20% of the delayed cases.

60% chance between these dates

Feb 9 + 50 days = Mar 31, 2011

Feb 9 + 90 days = May 10, 2011
