Ok I was a little bored!

I took a sample of 34 people who started their application in early 2010 and are now finished
their application at New Delhi

11.7% of the people had to go for an interview.
29.4% of the people had to submit additional documents or go for an interview.

76.4% of the people had a passport request in 29 days from the date of sponsorship approval in Mississauga.
The rest were much longer like 40-80 days.

58.8% of the applications were done in 69 days from the date of sponsorship approval in Mississauga.
This group also included 30% of the people who had to submit additional documents or go to an interview.
Minimum 38 days to a maximum 91 days.

41.2% of the applications were done in 132 days from the date of sponsorship approval in Mississauga.
This group also included 70% of the people who had to submit additional documents or go to an interview.
Minimum 100 days to a maximum 279 days.

I was approved on Feb 22, 2011.

Passport Request should be on March 23, 2011. Actual: March 10, 2011
Visa with no complications should be on May 2, 2011.
Visa with complications should be on July 4, 2011.

I also got a typical right skew distribution that also agreed with some data on CIC website before they changed it.
Again this is from the date that your sponsor is approved in Missauga.

Time # of people Percentage
< 50 days 1 1 2.94% 2.94%
51-65 days 8 9 23.53% 26.47%
66-80 days 7 16 20.59% 47.06%
81-95 days 4 20 11.76% 58.82%
96-110 days 4 24 11.76% 70.59%
111-125 days 3 27 8.82% 79.41%
126-140 days 2 29 5.88% 85.29%

156-170 days 1 31 2.94% 91.18%
171-185 days 2 33 5.88% 97.06%
>185 days 1 34 2.94% 100.00%

speedy passport request < 45 days - good news for 70% of these cases must be simple and be done in 69 days ~ 2 months
- for the rest 139 days ~ 4.5 month wait

long passport request > 45 days - bad news long wait - 148 days ~ 5 months

Enjoy!

@ dr dave

nice summary of the cases

lets hope for the best :)

@gagansingh

Yes, my wife has already submitted her passport. 11 days after the first letter
they requested my wife's first divorce papers. So they are working on it, even though
ecas still says application recieved. so its clear that ecas has no real info because
the visa officers are overworked and don't have time to update it.

@def_col_male

For def_col_male, I predict a 60% chance of getting visa between

Feb 16 + 50 days = Apr 7, 2011
Feb 16 + 90 days = May 17, 2011

@ dr dave

i agree with u....i guess e-cas does not hold any value....reason being is that some visa officers update the system as soon as they work on the file and some just really dont care....e.g. in sank's case....e-cas changed from "application received" to "decision made"

btw....can i ask if chc nd asked the papers from ur file in one letter or did they send two letters (one for the docs and other for ppr)

thanks

@ dr dave....

good calculations....

do u have any calc./prediction for my cousin sister....

file rcvd in delhi: feb 15/11
ppr issused: feb 25/11....rcvd: mar 1/11
additional docs letter issued: feb 28/11.....rcvd: mar 9/11
pp and docs rcvd by chc nd: mar 14/11

@ gagansingh

If its a simple case, then most likely between these dates.

Feb 15 + 50 days = Apr 6, 2011 earliest and very lucky
Feb 15 + 90 days = May 16, 2011

You mention additional docs. If this is just the RPRF, PPR, PCC
then no problem. If its other types of documents requested, then
your cousin sister will have to wait longer. Then most likely after
May 16, 2011.

They sent my wife 2 letters.

First letter - RPRF, PCC if not already submitted and PPR
Second letter - wife's divorce papers from her first marriage 5 years
ago.

Sounds like a divorce is a red flag for Delhi and they need to investigate
things a little more.

Hey Sank .............Congrats to you :D ;D !!

i dunno wats taking them so long 2 trsf my file huh :( >:(!!

well she got 2 letters as well: first as usual....general letter with rprf, pcc, and pp

second: proof of communication and some outing pics

i saw that few of the ppl got the second letter asking for the same request and they got the visa in a fairly reasonable time....so hopefully things will sail smooth for her.....

Yeah i have a read a lot about red flags..usually they are divorce, kids custody papers, marriage without proper communication, huge age difference etc..
But, having a red flag does not really have to delay your case. Each case is different.
I know a few who had red flags but still had their files fast enough..its just which VO handles you file.

@ fprince...

i guess that all depends up on the visa officer....i have seen where simple cases have been called for an interview and red flag cases got their visa's in like 2 months....

and on top of everything....it is the luck that plays a huge role :)
