torontoV and sanyrog....... the reason of delay ND got high volume of application plus they have shortage of officers yeah embassy is off for 3 days but truth is that all senior staff gone for holly days as many officers is Canadian ....... and some cases took time coz they do background check which one is compulsory for every applicant and family members. and i think this is the last step and after that they receive medical and result.

@rocky636
Hey that really makes a lot of sense although the embassy is only closed for 25,26,27,28and 1st , that is for all the employees , although majority of ppl that work there are Indian but there are also a lot of Canadians that work there and probably book off most of December as vacation to go back home to spend christmas and new yr with their families , I dont blame then I'd probably do the same . So I can see the extra workload that the rest might be facing and a lot of ppl inquiring would just increase the work load , so we can see why December is moving slow , like I said guys look forward to about 2nd week of January thats when I bet all the fun and games will be done and things will begin moving faster. Keep faith guys, I haven't seen my wife since May but I am still hanging in there .

Guys,

1question. pls help. ND does an initial review, and ask for our ppt. Then they do all these background verification n final review before issuing visa..Among these, background verification is one which takes time.. my qn is, will they wait for the applicant's ppt before starting background verification? Usually, ppl send the ppt within 10days from the time they issue the letter.. As my mailing address is canada, it takes a month to reach.. so background verification would ve started even before I send the ppt? Or will they wait for my ppt to start all the processes?

Sanyrog,

it's all depend on visa officer that how ur file looking and every officer have style to do work and BG they can start whenever officer Req. don't forget ND ask PP in 1st step in other country's they ask PP when they r ready to issue visa.

OK 2nd is u r worry about PP dead line so i want to say there is not a big issue about that normally they give 45 days for submit and if as officer can see in Ur file that Ur mailing address is not in India so they can understand it will be take time.

but if u still worry i like to say ask Ur husband if he call in CIC call center and clear this matter to them and they will be advise him that what u have to do but i think it will be not a big deal ................

Thanks rocky, sure I will ask him to ask CIC. Also, it looks like we gotta attach our original letter for PPR when sending ppt. As our originals will be with our lawyer, not sure what to be done. If the scanned copy will be enuf or not.. Guess shud verify with our lawyer.

Sanyrog

You can attach the scanned copy of the PPR letter when sending the Passport.

oh ok, thanks adihanda! Also whats the quota u all are talking abt ?

And missingyou, which part of India ur wife stays? As it has taken 9days to reach u.

Also guys, any idea how much time it takes for a PPR letter (guess thru ordinary post) to reach montreal from delhi?

sanyrog!

It takes a week for normal post to reach Montreal from Delhi excluding saturday and sunday.

oh......... only a week? Hmm, then its been already 10days if at all ND has sent PPR to me also around the same time like others. I was trying to check indian post website and couldnt find the time.. But i found out from canadian post website from Montreal to Delhi.. so not sure if its the same for the otherway also.

Ordinary mail will take time to reach.
Can b around 20 to 25 days or may be more :(.
As in India only it took around 10 days to reach.

Once it is reached to Montreal, get it through FAX.
