I talked to my consultant and she told me not to do so as they may put the file aside thinking the passport is going to take time..

Just a thought....is it a bad idea to send a CSE, informing ND of the situation and letting them know when the passport would be mailed? Just so that they are aware of what's going on too!

Thats what I am planning to do.. Submit the passport within a few days after june 30.. The date on the letter is june 1 2011... Thanks for all your help!!

I just spoke to a Indian dude at work who recently got his new PP and what he told me really pissed me off.
Still not sure if this is for everyone but looks like they are doing this for most of the ppl..FebPR was right abt the 20 day commitment time from CGI.

Here is the fu$ed up part
They cant confirm with your Visa issuing office ( old PP ) within 20 days and they issue you a NEW PP with a 1 year validity.
So when you again go back after 1 year you jus submit simplied forms and a $21 AGAIN VFS fee ( yes these guys make a profit now ) ..
They endorse page 5 on the 1 year PP saying " This is now valid for another 9 years "

So you have a same NEW PP with a expiry date of one year in the first page and on page 5 it would say valid for next 9 years.
What a fu$ed up PP to have !

Frustrating Issues :

Everytime u cross the border they will say that the PP is expired and you need to tell them abt page 5.
In your 1 Year PP you can not get multiple entry visa to US/Europe as your PP expires in 1 year...so you gotta wait for the extra 9 years validity...

Yes VFS is there to make a huge profit, when I applied for T-Visa, and I was cancelling my expired India passport, I was in the line waiting.. my turn comes.. I say I have to submit cancellation application, and I need indian T-Visa...

I was expecting to pay $20 total for the services.. but no it wasn't the case!!! He takes my application to cancel the indian passport, and then he goes I have to go on a break, wait here... "he will help you" (he points to the guy sitting next to him) now this guy takes my T-Visa application and charges me another $20.... ($20 for each service offered...)

(Just thinking out-loud) what if you goto India for a trip (whenever you think you maybe making a trip) but before the passport expires.. and you apply for a passport there?

i was in the same situation for 4 months and i understand what you guys are going through.
Nothing is wrong with the post and trust me its not lost.
These dumb ones sometimes forget to mail out the PPR.
They will finally realize it and send you one soon.
Keep your spirits high.
I was asking DNT to send a CSE next week and you should do it at the same time.
So you guys can track it together

Well.. i had applied my spouse application in oct 2010 and it was sent to delhi in nov 2010.. and SENT passport of my spouse on jan 2011 and interview was called for 14th feb 2011.. i went to india for interview with my husband and end of the interview the counsellor said that he needs a clearance police certificate again and SAID visa will be issued. we were so happy and we sent the police certificate the next day itself and from that day we have been waiting for our passport. when contacted through email and they replied..PLEASE HELP.... there is no response and ecas status hasnt still changed just shows"application received" - interview is scheduled on feb 14th 2011..

Due to the high volume of correspondence received by this office, it generally takes several days following receipt to process passports and place them on file. The file is then directed to the attention of a processing team, where it may take several more days for a final review to take place to ensure all requirements have met for visa issuance.

This file is currently pending final review by the responsible processing team and a decision by the officer. As soon as the review has taken place, our office will contact the applicants in case any further documentation or information is required. If the officer is satisfied all requirements have been met, visas will be issued, following which we will return the passports to the applicant by registered mail. Kindly note that it can take several days for registered mail to reach its destination.

Please be advised that all statutory requirements must be met before we can issue visas. We therefore cannot provide you with a precise date by which this application will be finalized and the passports returned. Your continued patience is appreciated. We can assure you that we give the highest processing priority to cases which are ready for visa issuance for which passports have been submitted. Until we contact the applicant, either to request additional documents or information or to return the passports, we will not be able to respond to further enquiries.

Guys, i have already given my feedback which is that this office is useless !
See the 2 highlighted statements and the crap they sent her .................its good cos when they say visa will be issues it does mean you passed the interview and the generic crap which they send out.
