@ gagansingh

Thanks for the info. I did not know that they need the original marriage certificate when landing. I have to take it with me when I go to India to bring her.

But before that I have to cross the big mountain of "Patience with New Delhi"

Now i am confused, FebPR..what did you do? Send or did not send the original?

I send the notorized copy of the marriage certificate. I have the original marriage certficate with me here in Toronto.

I meant to say I will carry the marriage certificate to India when I go to bring her and give it to my wife. So that she can present it while landing.

Cheers!!

There might be some truth in it. Since the percentage of applicants are more from Punjab, it is quite natural that they have developed more experience in dealing with marriage scenarios from Punjab. Because the main task in the spousal PR is to judge whether the marriage is jenuine or not. So the more the marriages they see the more familiar they become.

India is a country of widely different cultures. So familarity with a culture helps.

Cheers!!

That's just great.. and you maybe right.. at work who I say "aunt" and she is from Chandigardh, her daughter in law applied after me.. March 29, approved by April end... and they've got the PPR recently.. its fast because her son got married way after me.. so yes PUNJAB again.... so now I WANT TO BE FROM PUNJAB.. I mean I want my wife to be from PUNJAB.. (she is the applicant)

A marriage certificate is not a must to have during landing but it saves you a big headache is they ask for it.
I spoke to my friend whose wife landed 2 months ago and she was asked to show the marriage certificate @ pearson and they asked her a bunch of questions about her bubby. address, job and how much he makes.
So they can do the cross check even when you are landing...and every IO will follow a different procedure..
Better to be prepared than have a strict officer who pisses you off right on day 1 in Canada.

Jet is a excellent airline. I like their service more than any other airline. I have travelled with all the airlines from BA, Singapre Airlines, Cathay pacific, etc. but no body can beat Jet Airways. You will enjoy your journey.

A lot of people in Canada get amazed when they see the level of service in this Indian airline. It is also a smart airline. They are very efficient in their operation.

Cheers!!

i have heard lots of good things about Jet....especially for a person who is coming in first time to Canada....language, communication, ambience, cuisine, atmosphere....all great...

good luck :)

@Fprince.

Thanks buddy for the update. I am really grateful to you and to this forum. These sort of little information saves you from a lot of hassles.

You are right. Every IO is different, so it's better to be prepared. I mean you also can't blame them. People are so crazy to do a immigration fraud that the immigration officers's task becomes difficult.

and my 2 cents on Air India...

actual time reached in toronto: 8:15 AM

and u can also check the 96 hours flight detail for the previous days...and the flight is delayed almost everyday...
