The problem with forums is alot of ppl who dont know exactly will comment and tell you something is BS or just an answer to shut you up. Let me lay it out for you now. What they told you just cleared up a few questions I had since ordering CAIPS.

So They do in fact send your file onto Ottawa ( I seen this in caips, I didnt know why nor did it make sense). They scan all documents, notify ND that your file is coming there. The file once uploaded can be seen as caips and the GMS server. ND can start processing. The date CPC-M gives you as a transfer date is a bit false you can see. In fact at one point I needed to correct an error on my app, I wrote them on 01/9 after a file transfer 3 days prior. ND told me that they were aware the file would be coming yet did not physically have it yet.

Anyways, so as your MP was telling you, they (ND) can do prelim things without the hard file but nothing beyond that. What is BS in your case is not even this prelim stuff has been done and after all these months they are telling you there has been no actual transfer done. I dun think so. What I dont by is the MP saying this happends all the time, if its such an issue why for ppl that applied after you have ppl been approved? Did you get the one idiot who took a few months holiday so nothing is being done????

If the date on the visa was very close to the passport posted date?

Visa issued date was Mar 24th 2011 and package received on April 6th 2011.

Yes, infact we had booked ticket for couple of different days and now we have confirmed it for Sunday's Flight!!!

PART 2,

You do not get a file number until after they have received the hard file and its been open for review. I can confirm this as well through correspondence. On 01/18 they sent me a message saying they had nothing. Yet 2 days later another e-mail stating they received it on the 17th and it now had a file number. I think there may be a bit of overlap with the message from the MP, when she got her response, as you said you now have a file number.
Another thing is no one knows abt this transfer to Ott because its not general knowledge... unless you have seen it in CAIPS or like def , listen to parlimentary discussions its gonna be news to you... but not a lie from the MP.

First this ottawa thing, and all new details she gave me..i am not even sure if these happen...or she was giving me a lesson on immigration.
How can a file not reach ND via post for 3 month?
Nylalisa - can you suggest something?

The last time i called CIC Miss they told me file was transferred to ND, this was a month before so i am not sure if they can help.
About the file number i got last week, no idea if they got the files last week or if it was a timing issue...this is the first time i am also hearing abt the Ottawa diplomatic post...
when it comes to process audits, these guys will fail 100% in 2011 !

Hello fprince, did you get CAIPS, that would give you some information. Also please call cic AT 1800 and ask again if file was transferred...as we know there are some docs, like pictures,etc which has to be mailed...other information are entered in system and is accessible by ND at same time when they say thta case is approved for sponsor!!! Let them know that you did n't hear from ND after so many days ..so is ther anything they (cic here in canada) can find out??

Next , pls email ND (use ur spouse's email id ) again and ask + let them know what cic at canada (call center) said you.

I am following your date, and as you said I think file is lying somewhere.either in canada or ND......someone need to find that???

I found out through signatures that def_col_male got ppr on 24 Mar and asurania on 10 Mar. You might want to update your status list

Yip my understanding is no file number until the hard copy reaches. CPC M does not forward the file directly, they notify the office to expect it. It goes through Ottawa first. Anything courrier in CIC is sent through diplomatic post or evenlops when its international like that. Thats how its suppose to be anyways.

Secondly null I am making an assumption that.. they spelled my husband's name wrong in their system twice. I think null voided that allowed them to correct it but them some bonehead didnt code right so null stayed there. Besides that there is nothing in Caips to indicate why its there or a prob or anything of the sort.

As Nylalisa says if they won't issue file number..Looks to me like your file was floating around somewhere and just reached Delhi.....either way I have a feeling they will give you the processing time crap since your application still falls under the specified time limits...I would think it's better to order CAIPS to find out what exactly is going on...Try explaining your situation and see if you can get it faster....I also think no harm is sending ND another email abt the answer you got from the MP, if that'll help them open your file sooner...

Nothing yet...it just says 'Appplication received' ( Application was recvd on Mar 28)

i am not sure if we should truly trust e-cas



my cousin sister's e-cas status stills says "Application Received" where as CHC ND had already asked for the pp and for additional documents....she had already submitted the pp and additional docs and chc nd received it on mar 24/11....and now i guess it is just a waiting game..

True..u only get more confused trying to figure out this system! It doesn't look like there is any consistancy...some people's application go from 'App Recvd' to 'Decision made' while some say 'In process' whereas they don't even get a PPR...! So..yes..I'm not going to trust ECAS...! I'm just trying to follow others time lines to get some sort of an idea...! let it happen when it happens...if not you just go crazy thinking abt this!!!
