as per the decision made date (mar 12/11)...we can say that it is not true that e-cas changes every tuesday or wednesday...i guess it can change any date...or whenever chc nd wants

And thank you very much for your suggestions...and as fprince says, we need a transit visa when travelling via NY....and I dont have a one..

So, I think it is better to go by Jet airways.....

If this is your first long flight, forget abt saving money in Air India.
You will enjoy Jet or BA..With Jet yes you will pay a few thousands more than AI but it is worth it..always avoid flying inside india which can tire you..
cos chennai security check is more than enough...they are very strict and long line ups for immigration...with Jet there is only 2 hours transit in brussels, and that will fly once u clear security in belgium. All you have to do is change the flight, you will get on to the Delhi-Brussels-Toronto flight in brussles..its stress free and you will love it...
Total flying time including transit would be around 21 hours

This is what exactly what my husband also told me....that dont worry about money..it is extra 5K to 6k you have to spend on jet airways...but the travel would be enjoyable and stress free in jetairways..

@ Of course, they change the ecas status even on sundays..So check the ecas atleast once in a day..as it gets updated at anytime..

Forgot to mention this, maybe different in different states in India. But usually the travel industry rip u off by saying u are getting a good deal. I always book mine online.
I did find out that if you book tickets online on the airline website you could be savinng a lot than going to travel agents who book with a flight of their choice and always sugarcoat things..for example..

Sanyoy - The trip from chennai - Toronto is 48k on jet airways website. You can book it right away if you like to fly on April 1.

Nisha/Sanyog not sure who wanted to fly on the 3rd..but try weekdays to save more than weekends..so for friday, april 1st

only take jet airways..it is a pleasure...airindia is not worth as it is always late and u will be very tired....... dont bother about few grants....... i had taken air india on my first trip it was horrifying for me...the flight was delayed by 6 hours so....i took oath that day i would never ever take airindia...it is a hassel..........jet airways is best even than emirates.......

Anyhow, I too gone through this website and I think on April 3rd, the cost is the same, Rs. 48,576..

And yes, you are right that the travel agencies took a commission of 3% from the total fare..and so it is good to book online..
