Hi Panda,
You will get your passport tomorrow or on Monday :-)
Are you still thinking abt going to india and come back with your wife ? i wish you all the best man...looks like i really have to cos its being delayed too much and by the time i get my visa it could be another 2 months...

Actually my parents are still there in India and are coming on March 26 and my wife wants to come with them and we will buy the ticket in the same plane so that she can come along with them, that way I can take days off in Canada and go on vacation here somewhere :-)

I wish you all the luck, I hope you get a fast PPR too and speedy visa

Panda

@fprince
You have "In process" and I have "PPR"...I think we should exchange...lol :)

@fprince.. Does your status say In process ? Thats weird since for most people I think the status changed from Received App to In Process after the passport was received No ?

I'm starting to think the delays happens mainly because of lot of foreign travel or may be they try too hard to verify your wedding...

Isn't it easy to verify an Indian Wedding ? I mean we have all these invites, so many attendees, etc. I don't why they dig so much into it..Isn't it hard to fake an Indian wedding ?

I submitted so many pics from my wedding, invites, pics of us together, marriage cert, bills. However I did not send private conversations and chats. I felt it was private...May be thats waht is causing my delay

Well its INDIA..........money talks, i mean for every single thing you wanna get work done...... thou its gov work or even a simple thing you need to pay them. {P.S Thats what i think, I might be wrong/bias but this is just my opinion, so pls guyss no offense to anyone}.

So you could imagine faking the wedding isn't that hard in India. I mean its possible to get 500-1000 attendees to fake it, there are ppl out their who can definitely do that for lil money. But hey we are very lucky that our processing VO is ND and its better then the other countries who gets their visa stamped like within 8-9-12mths.

Not only that from my understanding even if its the real marriage......there are tons of ppl who are down there who could do anything..... just to come to overseas, like marry you and then once they arrive here leave you and so on.

Like the case where this punjabi gurl sponsored her hubby, she met him online and aft 1-2yrs she got married to him, and aft the applicaiton was process and all once her hubby arrived here , he just ignored her and left the airport

Congrats missinghim....all the best...

Sanyrog....you have been quite for some days now, is everything ok? what is the status update???

Well there are reasons why its slower in "Certain" Countries ...Check out the countries where the process is slower and You'll definitely know why..Eg..Say Pak

But my thinking is If the Person has been in the US as a married couple as in my case, Infact my wife was on my dependant visa...I'm not sure why they would want to triple check the marrage...Like you said..You never know with ND

These days they update your status to in process and send you the PPR..however, it looks different in just my case..i am actually the only one with this much delay after they changed it to in process...
Still hoping i will get it any time..and i am the only one who applied in 2010 and still don have a PPR:-( so i can bet they forgot my file somewhere and forgot to send the PPR yet, until they do the check again my file will still be sitting there as they are working on new ones.
the delay they say is just cos of the backlog, they just have to hire more ppl to get it done, when you have a billion ppl in the country you are expected to have more workforce...
it all depends on the person who is working on your file, if he pulls a red flag it will be delayed, if he is cool you would get it earlier..not heard more a few genuine rejections cos they suspected the marriage..it is usually the motive, money which is the cause.
