one qn. Why do they call for interview? Is it from the initial review or from the background verification?

u r welcome Sanyrog, and yup agree with applied i don't think now they will call for interview...... don't think about that and think only about how soon they will return back ur PP with visa

Sanyrog: U said short vacay to india to visit hubby,,whats short? Im the sponsor and also a Canadian Citizen. The kids r also canadian. We r all going. I am thinking of going back for 5 mths..is that too long? Even if my hubby gets visa before 5 mths he cant come to canada til 3 more mths anyways as he has to give job 3 mth notice. It sux!

But anyways as u know ive been approved as sponsor n applic has gone to ND embassy now so do u or anyone kno if immigration will still contact me frm now on? I can have someone checkmy mail box while im gone every day so thats np. I found out if i leave for 5 mths i wont lose residency or ontario health benefits nothing. I can come bk w/o going on a waiting list. Im keeping the lease on my apartmt too & will still b paying rent on it while away.

Would be great to go for 5 mths.

If ur a canadian citizen, then np. U can stay how much ever u want I guess. Only if ur a PR, its not advisable to stay for so long.

I think, currently they take 46 days or so for sponsorship approval, 4m the day u submit ur appln. U can check cic.gc.ca website, to find out more info.. like which applns they are working on currently.

The current time is 46 days but as the staff comes in full force this time will decrease over the time.

They are processing the applications received until November 29, 2010 for now, Next update will be on January 12th

Ul get it from CIC-M, only after the sponsorship is approved. i.e. after one month.
