Hi Sanyrog,

British airways allow 23kgx2 bags and one cabin bag allow 7kg.

yeah at the moment BA is a batter flight it's ND to London London to Vancouver.

Sanyrog,

you can also look into Jetairways, I have traveled, with them amazing service. Food was great, seats are great, and if you need help on the plane, the hostess are great as well. The price should go down mid-Jan, as there is a festival mid-Jan. Same as BA, 23KG x 2 pieces, and 7KG handbag. I am going to book Jet Airways for my wife.

@sanyrog - i agree with missingyou. jet airways is an excellent flight. i traveled mumbai-brussels-toronto- its a 2-3 hour stopover and the brussels airport is quite peaceful compared to heathrow.

Adihanda,

No I dint send any email to check whether the ppt has reached safely or not. Anyhw even if I send, they wont reply. My lawyer is oly authorized to get info. And dont trust on their emails, u saw mine and applied03's case. Am sure ur PPR is on its way. V all will pray. dont worry.

Rocky,Missingyou and Sonia - Thanku for ur advice guys.

So missingyou,
when r u planning to book tickets for ur wife? After u get the visa right?

Hi guys,

I answered this question on another forum, but now I am even questioning the validity of my marriage according to the Hindu marriage Act now. So I am gonna put this out there for everyone to answer. Is there anyone here, who was married in India, where both spouses are of different religion? I was wondering if this was the case, was anyone able to get their marriage registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, but only to have the marriage declared invalid by the ND embassy because both spouses were not hindu?

I was married in September 2010, I was born Christian (father is Hindu), my husband is Ravidassia Sikh (hindu), because my father was hindu and I don't practice christianity (but I do practice hinudism with my husband), are marriages was registered and certified by lawyer and the court house. I am worried that the embassy is gonna say the marriage not valid or something stupid.

Jet airways is good for Toronto, but if u gonna land Vancouver so i think BA is batter coz jet airways is connected by Air Canada from Toronto and they charge to you for food ear phone and even jet airways office Assist. told me that Air Canada will be allow only one bag and for 2nd bag they do charge 50Cad, in jet airways you have to change 3 flights ND to Brussels Brussels to Toronto and Toronto to Vancouver by Air Canada.... well it's own own choice so u have to think which one will be easier for you. :D

Sanyrog...

Once my wife gives me the green light saying she has the passport in her hands, I am booking the ticket right away, maybe give her 7 days. As she is already packed, she only needs to get a couple of more things, such as sweets etc. that would go bad if she bought them now.

UPDATE:
So far so good!!!
Today i called the Call centre and listened to an update on the recording msg... it said the sponsorship was sent to nearest visa office closest to my relative on Jan 4th.
Its gone to Delhi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So happy!!!
I had initially sent it in on Oct. 14 but had to resubmit a form which was rec'd on Dec. 14th in Mississauga....i had issues with Canada post so im so relieved now. =)
Hope it'll b quick processing in Delhi, hope so.

My father is a Christian and my mom is a Hindu; its exactly the other way round in my husbands case. But both of us were raised as hindus. We had no problem registering our marriage and neither did we have a problem getting the visa.

I think thats the difference we are questioning, if you identify as someone not christian, will they recognize the marriage (they being the embassy). As it seems there is at least one person on the forum who is having their marriaged challenged not by the government of India but by the Canadian embassy because they both weren't hindus but married under the Hindu Marriage Act.

Where did you get the marriage certificate from? Once you get a marriage license, embassy cannot reject! Marriage certificate is a government document.

Has the certificate been notarized? If yes, I dont see why they should question the marriage validity.

The Lawyer that we worked with informed me that if the marriage is legal and recognized in India, it will be legal to Canada... We did an office wedding and got a certificate from the 'marriage office' where my husband is from AND we have a certificate from the temple where we were married in front of our families, just to make sure:)
So are are double bonded:)

Hope that helps, I don't think you have anything to worry if your marriage is recognized in India as valid. If possible I would try to discuss it with a good lawyer...

Thank you so much, for everyone's advice, I am going to consult with the Embassy in advance and then go to a lawyer with whatever info I have. I will keep everyone posted. :)

Thanks Rocky and Missingyou. Rocky, am going to toronto only. so jet airways would do I guess.

And congrats Missinghim, for ur sponsorship approval!

congrats missinghim............happy 4 u...........
