This is the reply that ND embassy provided.

This is in response to your recent email inquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Due to the high volume of new applications received by this office, it often takes several days or weeks for files to be created in our client database. As soon as a file is created, a letter will be sent to the applicant or authorized representative confirming receipt of the application and providing a file number. If the application was sent less than 3 months ago, we thank you for your patience, and request you to await contact from our office.

Please note that acknowledgement of receipt letters are not sent for sponsored spouse and child applications, as they are processed very quickly. The first contact that sponsored spouses and children receive from our office will be a letter requesting any documents required to finalize the application, or inviting the applicant to attend a personal interview.

Sanyrog, Missingyou i guess u should expect something after Dec 21 for in process as per their email..

ok I see the reply. So looks like, cos of lot of new applns, their processing time has become slow!!! Thats the reason. They have not changed any procedure as such then! So usually the file is opened within 2weeks once the file is transferred. But now its changed to 3months!!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH DELAY! >:(

OMG...............I too put up an enquiry yesterday but no reply yet.......this is horrible that they will open file in 3 months means thaey are going to take more than 6 months in total............sson 3 months will be oveer since our file got trnsfred to ND so i dont know after thar what will bw their response

Yes applied03, its annoying :( if they receive lot of new applns, they shud recruit more ppl to handle those.. they shudnt just leave those unopened. this is ridiculous :(

sanyrog:they are bullshit...i dont understand why they are doing this to us it doesnt used to be earlier but dont know what damn they work for us n get the salaries i would rather say they are responsible for keeping us apart n fights among spouses that too over the no reason only becoz of getting irritated being livivng a life of single inspit of being married

Yes I totally agree! we cant do anything in this, except just to sit and wait. If they receive lot of new applns, and if the usual time frame of opening the files is 2weeks, then if they take like 1 or 1 and half months, delay is acceptable. But whats this!!! 3months!!! totally not acceptable!

agar file kholne main 3 months lga denge to visa dene main to bhagwan he jaanta h kitna time lgaenge.............may be the whole year what u guys feel??????aisa to nahi hoga na

applied03, dont feel bad. We pray and hope that it l take only max of 3months once the file is opened. As ours and all are st forward cases, it shudnt take much time. No complexities. So once the file is opened, it shud go pretty fast. Again, we cant guarantee anything here. But we shud hope for the best!! Just need to pray god!

From what I understood, it says acknowledgment of receipt letters will be sent out after 3 months. But they don't send those for spousal cases since they are processed faster...which means the 3 months wait doesn't apply to spousal application?

so there is still hope =) Maybe we will all get our Christmas presents reallyyy soon *fingers crossed*

...if not, we will continue to wait like we already are

@sanyrog

Last time i did a case reply, and got an instant auto reply, and they emailed me back in a couple of days saying they have not received my file as of yet. I did the same this time around, and did not get an auto reply, and they replied after 2 weeks, and said I am not able to find out the status for my wife's application. So this is where I am getting confused, if they can reply to me the first time, why cant they reply to me the second time around, or is it that my file is now being processed? Confused, Oh well. I guess I just have to wait like everyone else.

yeah, if they can reply for the 1st time, why cant they reply for the 2nd time also.. as u said, noone here knows whats going on there. We just need to wait and find out :(

Hey guys relax that 3 months is not for spousal applications , infact ND does not send AOR letters for spousal applications . On CHC website it even says that they might not even reply to case specific inquires if it is with in the 6 month period . Its nice that they are still replying to the inquires , so please try and be a bit more patient and see december through . Good luck
