Hey Guys,

I reading throught the last couple of threads, very bad, sorry to hear that no one got a status change, I myself did not get a status change. :( Oh well lets hope next week, but as everyone is saying lets hope for the best in 2011!!. I told my wife, just sit back and hold tight, as 2011 is the year we will meet up.

Just want to ask you guys for something, when doing a case specific enquiry, is ND, able to give the sponsor status updates on the case. I send ND a case spec. enquire, and they came back saying that I do not have authorization to get updates on the case, I have not submitted the authorization form, and told me if I want updates on behalf of my wife, I need to submit the form. Now that is crap...oh well....Now thinking in the other direction does that mean they are reviewing my file, how would they have come to now, that I have not submitted that authorization form. If i am the sponsor why do I need to submit an authorization form? I understand due to privacy act, but still common guys, you got to be joking right!!!

@ sanyrog
did you get a reply back from case specific as you mentioned a while back that you did a followup pretty close to the same time as mine.

Oh well, lets hope for the best next week.

Missingyou,

No we have not got any response yet :( Actually we are moving thru a lawyer, and our lawyer sent the case specific enquiry on behalf of us. But sponsor shud be able to submit a case spec enq on behalf of their spouses.. there is an option out there.. My husband did that for the 1st time, when we sent the case spec enquiry. why is it blocking for u alone? U mentioned that ur the sponsor and entered ur details right? It doesnt even allow u to submit the enquiry?

Guys ! I am in fix.My wife sponserd me and my daughter .We got married and then we have a baby here in India,After that she went to Canada with the baby {on TRP} and filed sponsership application. The sponsership application got approved on 30 Sept and then My wife came back to India on 22nd October since she has to submit My daughter's passport also at ND office with mine{since she can't send Indian passport by courier}.However till date there is no such intimation regarding submission of passports. Now my question is since my wife is still here in India, will CIC tomm can raise objection since she is staying here and waiting for process to be over. She also can't go back to Canada without daughter.Anyone who can suggest me what to do?

@rbaweja:if ur wife is not a canadian citizen nd is PR in canada so she cant stay long time in india as itmay create pbm for u people a small vacation in ok.......so dont take risk if she is a PR............as i know a person on this forum whose app got rejected as his wife was staying with him in india but her case was a bit diiferent as she didnt went back even once for applying...........so must consult some laywer about this.

I second this. ND CHC starts doubting the promise of the Canadian Sponsor to ever return back from India and they outright reject the case. The sponsor can come visit for a short duration but if they sniff that the stay is not a vacation but is going to be for sometime, they might reject the case.

Also, for the Sponsor be eligible to submit a case specific inquiry, unless the Applicant has actually signed and submitted a Release of Information to the Designated Individual form, they wont release any case specific inquiry to the Sponsor. For people who have worked through a lawyer, a lawyer knows of these small technical details and might have filed in the form with other forms. When my husband submitted a Case Specific Inquiry for me, he was told the same thing. If you do not want to waste time filling out more paperwork, ask the applicant to submit the case specific inquiry. Since the file pertains to them, they are legally authorized to get all updates from CHC ND.

All the best guys!

oh ok, then our lawyer must ve submitted that authorization form for us. Thats why, my husband was able to enquire abt my application last time.. Anyhw the response from them was vague.. Like they are still waiting for my package from Canada, to start processing etc.

Missingyou,

This is the 1st time ur sending case spec enquiry? or did u do it before? I think u have done it before, and u got the same response like mine right? i.e. they havent received the package yet.. what id did u use that time then? sponsor's only? seeing that it worked before..

Guptash,

Do u mean that the sponsor cannot get the status inquiry or the sponsored person. I am confused. Is it the person who is being sponsored from India eligible to inquire only.

Yeah, the sponsor cannot get an update on the application process UNLESS THE APPLICANT (the sponsored person) HAS AUTHORIZED THE SPONSOR TO GET INFORMATION by signing the Release of Information to a designated individual form: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5475e.pdf (I have attached the form here). The applicant can however send in a case specific inquiry without filling out any form using this link: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=new%20delhi. Filling out a case specific inquiry is VERY EASY! Just use this link and put in a precise query. Be specific and short. Thats all:-)

I hope this helps.

oh ok. But we never filled this form or signed.. but my husband was able to make a case specific enquiry before. By that time, the file was not even opened in New Delhi. Is it like, we cant get any updates, after the file is opened?
