Thanks Livin.

So they already invited your hubby to Ghana eh?
But we have already done medical + security clearance, prior to submitting the application.

Any ideas what kind of questions they ask at that interview, btw?

Hopefully, we'd get our invite before this month runs out.

Hi Laajman,
I applied for my spouse on July 8, Sept 9, i was approved as a sponsor, on Oct 15, it said medical results received, hubby's interview is end of November :) If all goes well he should be in canada before Dec! This is very exciting!
From other people's experience, it seems like a lot of people get called for interviews. My spouse was told to bring his police clearance with him to the interview. At first i thought they would request that first and check it before calling him for an interview. I guess everyone's case is different. Good luck!

I forgot to also mention, just make sure you study all the information on the application (sponsorship form and permanent residence form). The majority of the questions will be generated from that..

What Livin said is true as questions are asked as above and based on your application. Don't forget they use reverse psychology too.

Hello folks,
I applied in Aug for my spouse. Got 1st confirmation in Oct, and just got another email from Accra recently inviting my wife for an interview. I find it a bit strange they are asking to see marriage cert, photos, proof of relationship after we already submitted these with the initial application.

Is this the norm? I know you folks have already given me an idea of what kind of questions to expect, but can you advise on what else I need to be aware of?

Much thanks!

Yes it's very common for the Visa Office to ask for additional documents. The marriage certificate is a very common one for Accra, and they want to see continuity in the relationship, all the documents they are asking is standard.

This probably means they might be questioning the genuineness of the relationship....but in Accra everyone gets interviewed....so just bring what they ask for, go through you application forms, make sure you know what you wrote....and go through the list of questions posted here....I am sure you guys will do great. :) Did they ask to bring her passport as well?

How far away is the interview? Maybe you can order your CAIPS notes....notes on your file from the visa officers....

That's exactly what they requested from my spouse when he had his interview last month, and she refused him a few days later. Good luck to you!

Laajma, there is nothing wrong with what they have requested for. Give it to them and be calm. How long has the whole process taken?

@fernendez: I submitted in August.

@Livin: did you say they denied your spouse a visa? On what grounds? That must be really disappointing.
What are your next steps?

my husband answered all her questions and she couldn't deny him in front of his face, so she denied a few days later. I received an email saying that our relationship is not genuine. bull s*%#!!
I hired a lawyer and appealed last month. I rec'vd acknowledgement letter from the appeal board. So now i'm just waiting...
My lawyer advised me to take another trip back home, so i am doing that next month before we receive a hearing date.
I am still pissed at how one person's decision can ruin people's lives. Because of her i'm incurring all these costs.
I hope she is miserable for the rest of her life, because she sure made me miserable!

When is the interview? The fact that someone has been denied does not form a basis for you to panic Is your relationship not real?. Go with the requested details and that is it.

My dealing with Accra was absolute hell. What a nightmare.
Seems people on this thread only talk if they had some reasonable success.
