Hi All,

I am sponsoring for my son(6 months old). Got AOR from New Delhi Visa office. It is said to submit the receipt copy of Right of Permanent Resident Fee and Police Certificate. In my case, as I am applying for 6 months old baby, I understand that it is not needed to submit these. My doubt is, should I leave without replying to this email or respond to Visa Office stating that the applicant is a dependent child aged less than 18 years.

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks in advance. :)
You don't need to pay the rprf or submit the police certificate.
You had better reply them.

Hi,
Can someone here please tell me, if we need to attach the ORIGINAL Birth certificate (From India).
I am trying to sponsor my son. He was born in India. Now he is staying with me in Canada. SO when I check the checklist, it says Birth Certificate. (Doesnt say Copy). And in the guide somewhere I read for certain documents you have toi submit originals (and in bracket, they say example; Birth certificate).

Please help.

In our case we sent a certified translated copy of birth certificate.

Thanks.
Mine has English (as well as the local language) in the certificate. So was just wondering.

Another Question. This time for IMM 5481 (Sponsorship Evaluation). There is no space/column to sign the form. But in the new document checklist, it mentions this form where you need to put the signatures ? What should I do. Any help ?

Hi All,
Thought I'd just post my timeline here, sponsoring my daughter who is not a Canadian citizen due to the ridiculous "second generation born abroad" clause (I was born in UK to Canadian parents). Anyway, here is timeline:
- Application sent - June 9, 2017
- Received - June 13, 2017 (notification by SMS)
- First official email acknowledging receipt and instruction to link account online (I think this is "AOR") - July 12, 2017
- Approval of Sponsor - July 20, 2017
- Currently awaiting request to submit Schedule A, which they said would happen within next 5 days

Also, couple notes about above people's questions on certified copies of translations. I think that (despite the official instructions), this varies by country. I'm applying from Thailand, and the embassy said that they didn't need to certify the copies or notarize the translation for birth certificate and marriage certificate, they just put one stamp that "certified as correct" the translation, and sent this with non-certified photocopies of originals. They said that's how it's done from Thailand, and given that sponsor has already approved, it seems to have been sufficient. However I've also sent several previous applications in the past years (i.e. for proof of citizenship), so it's possible they've just accepted the documents based on comparison with previous submitted applications.

Did you get your AORs ?

I have one question;
After linking my application, it shows up in my submitted application and in the Details column it says "Your Action is Required".
But in messages, it says "None" and in the "Check Status and Messages", there too in application message, there's nothing.
It shows the application details all good.

So what is that "Your Action is Required"

Dear Seniors,

I am trying to look for some information about child sponsorship. We are currently in PR status who has short landed in June 2017 and leave Canada. We are planning to go back in 2 years time. My wife is expecting to have our second baby in Feb next year. Our first baby is now a PR as she was bornt while we are still finalizing the PR application.

(1) Is it a must for someone with only PR status (not Canadian passport holders) to apply for child sponsorship inland and cannot do it outside Canada? If so, that means we may only be able to apply sponsorship for our second child 2 years later after we permanently move to Canada?

(2) If this is the case, can our second baby stay in Canada with us as a visitor status when we move to Canada 2 years later provided that he has a visa exempted passport? Is that he must leave Canada (maybe go to USA for a in and out trip) every half year?

(3) Can the baby apply for day care in Canada if his status is still a visitor and not yet a PR?

Thanks so much for your answer.
