I'm sure for some it is. I sent a rather ranting email to Ottawa demanding more transparency, and they responded by saying that there is an unusually high number of security screenings (in my opinion, probably because of refugees), and therefore the process is taking longer than expected. They also said these things can be lengthy.
I suspect that it's not just up to them. If they're doing an extensive security screening (not just a check), then other countries might be involved too and their response is out of IRCC's hands.

Well, the case of refugees is definitely impacting IRCC and other agencies involved, and it's a top priority at the moment, which is understandable. For other outside agencies (from other countries), it's really sad if they cannot process any investigations within a reasonable amount of time, especially in this age of electronic and technological advancement.

I'm with you on this one. Come on, today you can find anything and everything online. I can't imagine security agencies not being able to dig out information. I'm assuming it's mostly bureaucratic issues, rather than anything else.

Yeah, bureaucratic issues could be a much better assumption, I guess.

Guys, in my notes security section shows created and updated date the same day - couple of days after AOR, and the status Not started. I ordered my notes more than 5 months after AOR. Does it mean security was started since then, or more probably it was not started until my BG went IP?

She told me that my application is under review.
It is my employment record which is being reviewed.

Today I called cic and confirmed that in Jul, Pretoria sent my application back to India as it was assigned wrongly. Not sure, how much time it will take now. Can anybody tell, if I can contact Delhi office by phone. If yes, what is the number .

They messed up my six months. Now I am sitting in Australia on one year assignment. Even if PR comes, not sure if I can make it to Canada.
