Completed 7 months since AOR on 16th oct and received my second set of GCMS notes which has nothing new to iffer since my last notes in july..security is not even started..but eligibility and criminality is passed, R10 ok, funds met, noc consistent with reference letters...don't know how long :-[ :-[ :-[ they will take to finish security when they have not even started.. :-[ :'(

Guys good news for me today I call to call center agent and they inform me My security clearance they receive now from CSIS and waiting for officer review on that document to take final decision

Guess security screening has been started. Normally they do not include this sort of information in GCMS notes.

You were pretty right. Just yesterday, I got a message on my CIC account claiming that they were ready to start working on my visa but the validity of my medical exam ends on of December. So they wanted to know if I could land before the 7th of December and I have to contact them through my CIC and not via e-mail or conventional mail. The only thing that I found on my CIC account that required my action is an area in my application where I had to resubmit a newer copy of my passport (since it's been approximately a year since I received my AOR).

Do I still have to contact CIC and if I do, then how?

I had the same thing, after 8 months i requested my status update from CSIS and they responded that they hadn't even received a request from CIC. I honestly have been thinking about the ways to make CIC to start doing some work, but i still have no idea how to do it, except ordering notes and sending requests and hoping it would change something.

Please can someone tell me how long does it take to get the BOWP after you apply it. Also I am guessing we also have to renew the TRV worker visa. How long does that take. And then again the health card, lease, SIN... The list goes on and on.....

u should get BOWP in 30- 40 days in your hand after u apply. TRV extension would take around 49 days as per CIC website. Health card , lease and SIN is nothing If u r inlander then only u can apply for BOWP. U must be having health card already so u have to renew it and then SIN is just 10 minutes job.

CSIS responded to my request in two weeks.
The point here is not that BGC takes more time, the point is that CIC don't even initiate the procedure with CSIS after 8 months of processing the file (and according to my GCMS notes they finished all other activities after one month from AOR), so if it was not requested from CSIS to do the BGC, the time of BGC becomes somewhat irrelevant.
