Whew! Finally! Got AOR on aug 16 and SA on aug 19.

I just got back from two weeks out west in Banff (so beautiful!) and so haven't had much time to check this thread, looks like I have a lot of catching up to do! Lol

I watched the news this evening about Manila Flooding.
Are you guys Ok right now for those who are in Manila now?

Luckily we're not that affected by the typhoon but they said that 60% of Manila are affected. I pray for the safety of everyone.

I sent the application on July 15th, it arrived on the 17th (according to Canada Post) and on August 15th, they sent me a letter informing me of my Sponsorship Status approval. (according to the letterhead)

Oh my god I'm so excited I could pass out.

Yes, most parts of Manila are flooded right now. Actually the monsoon rains that poured down on our city these past few days has brought a knee deep flood on the street in front of our house for 2 days. Fortunately, our house is high enough and the flood only reached the ramp on the sidewalk .

But we are okay. We always have our stocks of food and other emergency items.

I was never issued an AOR, and my wife had her medicals done on April 20th. (They'll likely request a follow-up medical, but we'll burn that bridge when we get to it ;P)

We're bound for St. John's, Newfoundland, if all goes according to plan.

Hello!

I feel kind of lost in this whole process, although we are making some progress so we must be doing something right! I'm sponsoring my husband from Northern Ireland... medicals were done way long ago, April 17 2013 (long story)... I sent our application to Mississauga July 9, received on July 10, and got a letter dated August 9th staying I've been approved as sponsor and our file transfered to London Visa office. Medicals show as received, and application status when I check (obsessively) is "Application Received". So, we wait. It's nice to be part of a forum so I can talk to other people about this! I'm living in Vancouver, nice to meet all of you
