No you don't need to upload I-797. However, I would advise that you upload it along with the scanned copy of the biographical pages of your passport. Also include the employment authorization card (if applicable), the H1B visa page and any other document that establishes your current status in the U.S.swish003 said:Hi, I am uploading my docs. I am on H1B in US currently. Do I need to upload I-797 proof anywhere?

Proof of relationship is only for close relatives, like your immediate uncle. In that case you would have to upload your mother's / father's passport or birth certificate and that of your uncle's to show that he in fact is your immediate relative. In this case just leave it blank.Surbhigurpreet said:Dear Legal Falcon.
I have received ITA and have started uploading documents.
There is window which says that I have to upload PROOF OF relationship and when i click the help button it shows documents like marriage certificate or birth certificate etc. It also says that "from the host".
I have checked my application I have nowhere mentioned that I have my parents or spouse in Canada, I have only mentioned that I have uncle (not a blood relative) in quebec. There is another column "Proof of status" which requires citizen ship documents from and I can provide that (not a problem).
But what about PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP I cannot do anything about it...
Please help ..... I think i am in a fix...
Thanks a lot
Hope this helps!Surbhigurpreet said:Dear Legal falcon, I have some more queries regarding ITA:
1. In which head should i upload / scan IELTS result;
You don't have to upload scanned IELTS result, just the number which you must have entered is sufficient. CIC can retrieve it with the number.
2. Where to upload my income tax return (proof of funds or proof employment)
You can make a pdf file with multiple documents. If you want to add your IT returns, just add them behind your reference letter and upload the file as one document.
3.Where to upload my license to practice law/tax consultancy (proof of employment or proof of education)
Its not required. You only need to provide the CIC with your educational evaluation report number. CIC will be able to retrieve the assessment. They are more concerned about it rather your license. However, if your license if from Canada, do include it as mentioned above.
4.What about self declaration letter prepared for pnp. (proof of employment or letter of explanation)
There is a separate column for Letter of explanation. Anything that dies not fit in in the right section you can add it there and provide an explanation for it.
5. My certificates of bank for proof of funds two months old (August/september) do we need fresh certificates or we can go further with these certificates.
As per CIC:
The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans.
The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include the applicant’s name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address), the account numbers, the date each account was opened and the current balance of each account as well as the average balance for the past six months.
As long as the letter provides the average balance for the last six months, it is fine.
Please help,
Thanks and regards
Not uploading the I-797 in no way create a situation for your application to be rejected. As long as you have documents uploaded that show your current status in US, i.e. passport, visa etc. you are fine. In case CIC needs any further documents, they will ask for it.sodapop123 said:@Legalfalcon,
I take it that this is optional ?? .... i.e. not a situation where application can get rejected if the 797 is not uploaded ?

So can i make changes in my profile after receiving ITA.
I can state this confusion/mistake in letter of explanation that the uncle stated in EE profile was not a blood relation. Hope this would not affect my application. I make 71 points without 5 points of blood relation in fsw.
Am incorrect in doing so?
Thank you legal falcon. +1legalfalcon said:Yes, you should include a letter of explanation. I am not sure what your score is, but hopefully with the decrease in 5 points you would not be below the cut off. If you go below that, then you should decline the ITA and reinitiate the process. However, if your score is well above the cutoff, the letter of explanation will suffice.
Thank you.... and yes, i have uploaded a scanned copy of all non-blank pages of my passport which includes my current stamped US visa pages.legalfalcon said:Not uploading the I-797 in no way create a situation for your application to be rejected. sodapop123 said:Hi Legalfalcon,
I have acquired a combination of two letters from my employer to satisfy the requirements from CIC :
1. experience letter with hr/week, employment dates, positions and job duties (signed by HR Rep)
2. another letter (kind of a bonafide) which includes current annual salary + confirmation i am employed as of today + a contact number (phone) for the HR Team in case verification needed. (also signed by same HR Rep)
I will be adding in an LOE stating that my company does not put salary and contact information in the experience letter and hence they provide this additional letter and to consider both letters as my proof documentation for my work experience.
Two questions :
A. Will this approach be sufficient ?
Yes, as long as you let CIC know in the LoE about your company policy.
B. Though they have provided phone # in second letter and company address is on the letter head details..... i have not been able to acquire an email address for the team on either of the letters as our company encourages any verification via phone instead of email..... hope this will not be an issue ?
Make sure mention this in your LoE.
On a separate note,
I have sent those job duties to the NOC team email (asking if i have selected the right NOC for both my jobs based on my analysis).... but still awaiting a reply after 3 days. Do you have any idea of how long they usually take to reply ?
To be honest, people have had different experiences with them. Some never her, some do, so I cannot give you a definite deadline.
