So the decision is made and on the 10th my wife and I will head back to Norway. I will accompany her for her 20 minute apointment for biometrics in stockholm a whopping 11 hour drive or in our case 5.5 hour high speed train qhen there ia a biometrics centre 45 minutes away that the Canadian government refuses to let spousal sponsored immigrants use. To say the least we are fed up i will stay in norway until june to see my sons first birthday then rwturn alone to canada waiting im sure at least another 6+ months for this to be over. Always been a proud canadian but after having done the process in Norway im not so proud anymore. Guess weve opened a can of worms that cant be closed now but this experience has both parties reconsidering our future in canada...
I agree their process isn't fair especially for " proud Canadian's " but you are fortunate your wife has a visitor visa
and can be together during the outland application. Maybe Norway is not a bad place until June......Do they have good beer?
Think of it as a test and you have to jump through all the hoops to get to the finish.
Save me some big worms from your opened can....I will use them for fishing.
It seems that most people here have already received their VISAS. We just got the medical exam requests for my husband and stepson - 6 months from the time we submitted - and there was absolutely NOTHING on the ECAS or GCKey up until today. So happy to have some news!
Same here! I kinda feel helpless at this point. A lotta people recommend calling them but I don’t think it’s of much use! Have you tried contacting?

So update on my wifes application. Shes completed her biometrics back in Stockholm and medical in Oslo. The ircc has agknowledged receipt of said medical. So now back to waiting for months and months on end by the sounds of what everyone else is saying here. Since she was forced to do biometrics back in Scandinavia even after receiving a visitors extension which was only good as long as she didnt leave canada. She likely wont be returning to canada again until completion of her application. Luckily I have an extremely flexible job thats well paying so im maxing out my vacations and then some to be with my kids and wife while papers sit in a pile somewhere in nova scotia.
