I don't understand why the IRCC decided to send the Sponsorship applications to an office with less employees ?
The only thing we've got so far is AOR on November 21st and the application was received on July 26th. We are closing in on the 7 month mark and all they say "everything in your application seems to be in order", I find outrageous that they take more than 2 months to evaluate my eligibility to sponsor my wife.

The cherry on top is that we still need the SA letter PLUS the AOR2 so I can send the documents to the provincial government of Quebec and then wait for the local visa office, there is no transparency on any of this and if you read the small print on their website it says "only 80% of the applications are processed within 12 months" and they add that in the last period that they analyzed they only got like 73% of the applications within that timeframe, so they are basically saying: we are doing a bad job, we know we are and we are not doing anything to improve it...

Sorry for venting here, but this is just ridiculous

I feel your pain and that is what is scaring me the most. We have waited 4 months for a simple AOR1 and I don't even want to imagine how much we will wait again. Since I am from Quebec, we also need to apply for CSQ. May I ask you from where you received your AOR1?

I have a quick question: we sent our application to Sydney but we received an AOR1 from mississauga office. Does it mean Sydney sent our application to mississauga office to be processed?

Do you mean AOR1 or AOR2? It does sound like yours has indeed been sent to Mississauga. They do this every so often with an outland application (perhaps when the local VO is backlogged). If so, it's actually good news for you as Mississauga generally processes them more quickly than Sydney. You might have just lucked out!

Thank you for the answer. It is for AOR1 and it is been almost 4 months since we applied. I believe after they finish they will send the files to my husband's VO (Rabat) and the wait time there is around 8 months.

I hadn't heard of AOR1 coming from Mississauga, but it does sound like you may have lucked out and it's not going to Rabat after all but instead will be done all in Mississauga. Fingers crossed for you!

So we received our AOR by email on January 18th its now febuary 18th still absolutely nothing. Is this normal. Why the delay? Just any news would be helpful at this point.

Give CIC a call and have the call centre agent send an email to the agent working on your file.
I called 2 weeks after AOR and was told that 2 weeks is too much to wait for SA. Had my SA within 2 days of calling.
Good Luck.

SA is Sponsor Approval. It's what comes after AOR.

Call 1 888 242 2100
Select Options 2 2 1 0 to speak to an agent

If you're outside Canada you call 613 944 4000. Then select option 1 1 1 to transfer to CIC. Same as above, select options 2 2 1 0 to speak to an agent.

Alot of times the line is busy, but you have to keep trying till you get put on hold to speak to an agent.

My application was delivered on 24th of January. Just wondering, if anyone has the same situation?

It’s ridiculous and like you I am at my wits end with them. App received for my husband sept 12, AOR dec 17 , Sa Jan 4th and medicals passed. Since then not one word no AOR2 nada ! I sent a case specific enquiry asking if they had started the processing as I have zero notifications in my ecas , I also asked where the app was being processed , as well I asked if we could pay the RPRF now as it’s not been requested either . I got the standard “ we are pleased to inform you that your application is all in order at the moment “ blah blah . Not even answering any of the questions asked. I do realize we are only 5 months in but come on , I’m trying to be patient but it’s difficult when specific questions are not answered or even acknowledged . Ok rant over wishing everyone much success

Hi guys, hoping someone here might answer my question. We also applied outland, so the file was sent to Sydney. File was received on 11 Sep, AOR 1 on 17 Dec, AOR 2 on 21 January and Medical requests on 26 February. So far, so good I guess. I just have one question - the e-mail that I received that has the medical request attached, came from Sydney and not from my local visa office. Is this normal? Since my file has already been transferred, I thought the medical request will come from my local VO. Thanks in advance.

That's normal. Your application is being processed in Sydney.
Since your file has already been transferred.....Good news, things are moving along faster.
