Documents delivered and signed by Hines on July 30th, 2018. After that, no AOR. Nothing heard. Our new baby was born at the end of last month. Anyone who is also waiting for so long to have the AOR? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have sponsored my wife who is in India.

I have sent application with all documents in August.
I had sent it through Canada Post with Tracking.
The Application was received on August 27 2018.

I am waiting to hear back from them since then. It has been 2+ months now.
No AOR, No Emails, No Letters from them.

Can someone guide me in the right direction on what I should do? Anyone else in the same boat as me waiting to hear back from them with similar timelines?

Hello @ravip26 , I have similar timeline as yours, they received my file on 30 August and I called them on Friday after which they have provided me with a temporary file number. You can try calling them. They will definitely respond.

I was able to call them today. They told me the application is received and is being reviewed for completeness. You will receive an AOR when they verify all the documents are ok.
Did not give me a Temp App Number .

Hi all, hope I am in the right room:

Getting twitchy here. 3 MONTHS and no acknowledgement (I assume that's what 'AOR' is?) or confirmation of processing.

The detail:
My wife is Canadian, we are living in the UK looking to move to Canada to be with family.

We applied for Spouse Sponsorship for me with wife as sponsor (our young son has dual nationality so not on application). It was on paper to Sydney Nova Scotia as directed, and it was signed for 13th August. We've heard nothing back (19th November) 2018. No emails (been checking junk!)

I even wrote to them via the webform and got what appears to be a standard form response (but hopefully the 'received your application' is confirmation that they have it on/in their system somewhere!

We have received your application and it will be processed according to the date it was received.

Once your application is found to be complete and ready for review, the responsible office will send you an acknowledgement of receipt with your application number and instructions to link your application so that you can view the status and messages online. If further information is needed, the responsible office may contact you.​

However - I'm sure the immitracker shows people whose applications arrived after ours getting attention - so what gives?

As I understood it, they check completeness and email (as we supplied email addresses) or in the least a letter. We are both registered for GCKey and done searches to link it but nothing found so far.

Any ideas what's happened, what should happen next, what I can do?

Oh! Just saw these posts! I am NOT alone then.

Call them? How? (I am in UK)

What does the temporary case number do for you? (As I'm sure they have also changed to biometrics stuff since I applied, now asking you pay upfront - so if there's anything I can do ahead of time, I am eager to do it to prevent any further delays!)

Please can I ask: How did you call them (can't find any numbers) - and what does the temporary file no give you?

Call +16139444000 using the app hangout dialer or Skype. Call at 7:50 am EST and be constant, it can be hard getting through to an agent

If you are in Canada call 1 (888) 242-2100
Then 2110 long wait time and may have to try 3-4 times
And as I wrote temp file no doesn’t work anywhere so don’t know what is the point of it

The temp application number just gets you relief that they have actually received your file. Once I got temp application number, I received AOR1 within a week.

Thanks this gave some relief but at the same time made me worried because it’s been 2 weeks I got temp file no and no Aor or anything on Ecas or GC key

Temporary File Number mean nothing and frankly got no usage. It's just that they have attached your file number to a system, temporarily. Your file can still be returned if deemed incomplete. Once AOR is issued, file can only be accepted, refused or withdrawn.
