Super Visa - anyone applied as yet?

Hi Xenon,

Thanks for revert..your r right CIC need bank draft...so VFS takes cash from us and they have DD with them which they said it with applications.

I did showed them receipt but they said Delhi office dont accept the receipt so you need to claim back the amount from CIC delhi through email
Now i have sent them email but still no revert from them

I dont know what to do?

VFS shouldn't/don't accept direct cash. They may have the facility to make bank draft payable to CIC within their office. You make the draft with that section or the approved bank and then submit the draft along with your application to VFS (when you're applying through VFS). For Delhi-VFS, they accept cash in INR and then make a draft for you to accompany with the application. (http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/india/service_charge_schedule.html)

If you were to apply through VFS; why did you pay fees online in the first place? I don't understand. Anyway, if you're in Canada, call CIC for further assistance.

Most likely, you have NOT selected SUPER VISA option when doing the application wizard. There is a question that asks you about your relationship to family members in Canada and you should pick "Children/Grand Children". Once you do that, you will see a request for Medical Insurance.

Just one of your parents can go. Almost anyone with an authority can drop the PP at VFS.

I haven't sponsored my parent but helped my mother apply for Super Visa. "Sponsoring parents" would mean applying for their immigration in family stream. Anyway, my mom applied back in 2012 through VFS-Dhaka. At that time, visa processing was handled locally. She got it within a month for the period of PP validity.

Good day to all just want to ask some question my mom got her supervisa valid until 2018 she came to Canada last June 30 she got 2 years stamp on her passport at the POE my question is where going home for vacation this coming holiday and come back after 2 months are we going to get her return ticket as well Canada- home home- Canada then another retune ticket home again another question is because she got 2 years stamped already are they going to give her another two years in the POE or she can continue the validity the one they stamped already, anyone please advise me

Bro check you have to submit your parents PP at locat VFS office.

Regarding the members question of return plane ticket for two year super visa. I have posted on this issue a number of times and it is a real problem. The issue is no airline will issue return airfare that can be used beyond a twelve month period, so what is occurring is people are wasting thousands of dollars on return airfare that they will never use if their parents or grandparents visit Canada for longer than twelve month. If you do a search on this site one was some members overcame this issue was to ask for a letter from the embassy that approved their super visa that they do not need to purchase return airfare.

The Canadian Government wants to protect itself to ensure that there is sufficient funds for return a airfare, unfortunately the rules of airlines do not allow for this. This is were you have good intentions but fail to see if they can be met in the real world marketplace. Once the airline ticket expires after twelve month the super visa applicant still needs to purchase another return plane ticket for their actual return home. I don't see how this benefits anyone other than the airlines. It is a complete waste for money for the super visa applicant and does nothing for the Canadian Government requirements.

On a positive note we do have the best government in the world and I have seen very positive changes in regulations for visitors to Canada, I certainly hope this is an issue that will be addressed for everyone's benefit. In the intern if super visa sponsors bring this issue up to their MP's we can get results faster.

My mom applied for SV (Paper application) on 15th Sept via VFS with upfront medical. I haven't received any response from NDVO. It's been over 20 business days now. Hence the concern.

What do you recommend I do? Any suggestions?

Do not worry you will get a response within a week I guess.. it usually takes 2-3 weeks so you can expect response next week or so

I applied for my moms super visa ONLINE on aug 13th . got biometrics right away and submitted bio metrics within a week. now its oct 15 i haven't heard anything from them ? we submitted online cuz we thought its the fastest , its almost 60 days i haven't got medical request ? what should i do ? should i contact embassy here in canada or call someone in islamabad embassy ? how long usually it took for ur guys parents visa ? !!!

From someone else's timeline I calculated 48 days for medical to be asked - they filed at VFS (I guess that is online application).
I suggest you sending a case specific inquiry through their website. They usually answer within couple days if you enter proper ID information. Please update us on your status.

P.S. They should definitly get back to you by now as Islamabad is 58 days processing now.
