My parents got supervisa. My query is that do they need a return ticket as well while travelling. One of the agent told my father that they need to have return ticket with them while travelling...

please give yr inputs

Congrat imran007.

One thing I did several years back when I had to come to US on visit visa and then to Canada on student. I got two one ways one the best one I can find and the return (one way portion) fully refundable and once I arrived in Canada, I applied for its refund and it was fully refunded. I got this refundable ticket directly from the airline (PIA) office and my father asked for returned once I was in Canada.

Can you please share your experience. Which consulate, how long it took and what document you submitted? Anything else that can be beneficial for others.

I'm still confused on 'right of entry' issue, if anyone has info on this, please share:

Given that my mom gets 1 year or more stay permit at POE with minimum of 1 year medical insurance (which allows multiple entry within the validity period. i.e. GMS); will she be able to enter Canada multiple times with Super Visa? Or, she is only allowed once by default showing minimum of 1-year insurance each time?

My dad's name on the my passport : AB Singh XXXX

On My mom's passport : AB Singh

Is there a any issue?

In order to provide relationship, can't i use passport copy/high seconday certificate/post garduate degree

My birth certificate doesn't contain my name and home address is not eaxctly same as on my mom's passport

Birth Certificate contains my mom's, dad's name and date of birth

Any suggestions

Your dad's last name is on your passport. Does it mean it's stated as your FATHER'S NAME or with your name? And correct me if I'm wrong, your mom's passport doesn't contain spouse's name. Or, you are referring to FAMILY NAME as a whole that it doesn't match each other.

In any scenario, since your dad is no more, it won't be an issue. You've to provide your birth certificate in order to prove your relationship with your mom (in that, your father's name may appear as well). But if his name mismatches with other docs (i.e. passport); you can make an affidavit for it.

I just check VFS checlist for Supervisa (http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/images/ParentsandGrandparents_Eng_23jan2012.pdf).

Proof of relationship with the inviter in Canada. This can take the form of

Copy of the birth certificate of your host,

Copy of the matriculation certificate or copy of fifth class certificate of your host,

or a copy of the interior back cover page of the inviter’s Indian passport showing the inviter’s parents.

I can submit my passport and matriculation certificate

My mother did her medicals on 13th February, 2012. Nothing from the embassy till now after that? Medicals take so long to be approved??

Timeline in our case was as follows

passport submitted - 26 dec 2011
medical request - 4 jan 2012
remedical request - 24 jan 2012
visa issued - 22 feb 2012

Now let see what would be POE officer decision....

Congrats imran007! Could you please share Super Visa timeline here?

Re: return ticket, agents in some countries wouldn't even sell tickets for visitor visa if you don't buy the return. Bangladesh does it. I guess this is an unofficial rule implied by immigration. If you buy a one-way ticket from here for your parents; they may still in problem when they pass immigration either/both at your home country and in Canada. Whoever landed here with Super Visa can shed some light here.

Has anyone landed in canada with supervisa? Please share the POE officer decision ....

Hello everyone.

I am planning for my mom to apply for a supervisa.
But for now, only my husband is working co'z I am still taking up some courses at the University for me to have a Professional Teaching Certificate here in Winnipeg. We have 3 kids. My eldest is 9 y/o and the youngest is 1 1/2 y/o.
My mom just retired from DepEd.
Do you think she will be given a supervisa since I am not working?
I read that aside from letter of invitation, I should meet the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO), and for family w/ 5 ,members like me, the minimum necessary income is $47,710.
Do I still need to meet this eventhough my mom has sufficient fund to visit us here?
Please let me know....
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Congrats Masud Hasan !!!

Could you please share your timeline like when your parents submitted their application, received medical request and finally got their VISA?

As I'm soon going to apply for my mom; I will probably bug you a bit. I'll appreciate if you can also share what documents you submitted from your side. You can also PM me if you wish. That would help me a lot.

You can also post in the following so that other fellow Bangladeshis can be benefitted:
Canada Immigration Forum > Temporary Entry Topics > Visitors > Topic: Supervisa from Bangladesh

In your case, your husband has to sponsor your mom. When you're not working, your family income counts. Having said that, his income will be checked if it meets LICO. You mom having enough fund is a plus; but you have to meet the LICO anyway.

Your husband has to declare that he will be bearing all the cost of your mom in your invitation letter or any other supporting letter. He also has to provide necessary doc as a proof of his income.

Important: If you have 3 kids, your family size would become 6 in total (including your mom) when you're considering Super Visa.

No problem.. just provide your birth certificate (in english or french) as required by the super visa. If you are still worry, your parents can provide their marriage certificate (in english or french)

@goal..that means london medical unit is very slow. I had to send medicals to london as well. Submitted medicals on 13 feb. No reply from embassy till now. I think you follow up with the clinic and find out whether the medicals were actually sent to london. Please keep me updated if you hear anything from the embassy
