Hey.. I have been reading everything.
And I m not sure if I like what I'm reading or not.
I'm right at the edge of sponsoring my spouse... just about to being the long... long jounry.
I'm living with my mother who is living in Subsidized housing, I work...and... want to sponsor my husband.
Is this an issue with sponsoring him?
and I make.. not a hell of a lot of money, you see I'm part time.. but I told that wasn't an issue

So.. out of everything I've read.

Will I be refused for being on subsidized housing?:( I can't afford an apartment at the moment

Being on subsidized housing would not be a problem. I know a few people who successfully sponsored. As long as you are not on welfare you're fine.

Oh wow.. really ? =O
They were on subsidized housing and sponsored? =O
I know a girl who had to change where she lived because of subsidized housing.. ...
You kind of boost my spirits though =)
It's good to hear that someone has done it before, not just one.. but a few...
It helps to have a lawyer I am assuming? =)

Im in subsidized housing, and have had no problem.

No. RGI is not considered social assistance. I know people who live in RGI (subsidized housing) and they have been able to sponsor with no problems. As long as you're not on welfare or undischarged bankruptcy you're fine.

RGI is where you pay 30% .. rgith? for subsidized housing?
What if I live with my mother, who's susbisdized house in her name, and she is on bankruptcy for 9 months?
Is that goign to affect my chances of being accepted to sponsor my husband?... aswell, I am not making a lot of money... is this bad .. will I be able to sponsor him, has anyone made just enough on partime ... and lived on subsidized housing, and sponsored someone?

As well.. what is undischarged bankruptcy? I'm trying to figure everything out before I start anything... my bones are shaking becuase I'm so nervous about everything.

Undischarges bankruptcy means the person declared bankruptcy and has not be released/discharged because their debts have not be erased. When a person who declares bankrupcty has completed all arrangements regarding paying off their debts, they receive an "order of discharge" clearing them of any further liability for those debts.

Your mother's financial circumstances will not affect your eligibility to sponsor your spouse. If you want to prevent CIC having any questions regarding your ability to support yourself and your spouse and thereby fulfill your sponsor obligations, ensure that you include proof that your spouse has transferable skills, such a trade certification, professional qualification and skills in English or French, if applicable.

Thank you again for your help

... I'm gald to hear this, but how should I prove this. He didn't graduate from University .... he was there 10 years and didnt graduate the last final year... he had ot repeat... we have a record of this, and he does have work history in a Language institution and will be able to learn french..soon I hope. He has much work experience as a receptionist adn an oddette.
How can I prove all of this... what can I do in his case?
Is this all still acceptable?

You need copies of his university transcript, including the letter advising him he would have to repeat his final year in order to graduate. If he has any trade/skills certificates, include copies of these. He will have to list his work history on the application forms, so that will show the kind of work he is capable of.

Subsidized daycare does not affect it - I am in receipt of it and was able to sponsor my husband. I confirmed it with CIC before we submitted. The only thing that is included is Welfare.EI, daycare subsidy, disability benefits, pension income are all not considered Social Assistance for Sponsorship purposes.

Hi

Hello! I am applying for a sudsidized daycare. Because i cant afford to pay a daycare. Now they told me that i am going to pay $0/month which is good for me. But i am so scared to grab it because of my our PR application under live in caregiver is on process will get affected by this program.

Now my question is do you know somebody who is in a subsidy daycare and successfully got their PR and finally the husband is here in canada?

I am so scared really. But i dont want to bring my baby back home.

Thank you so much and i will really appreciate your suggestion.
Thank you again.

It's not welfare, so you're good to go :) I got my MP's office involved on that one

Hi,

Are you also applying PR under live in caregiver? And what province are you?
It's just that i really really need some confirmation about this. I realy don't want to jeopardize our application.

Thank you so much for the info. I realy realy appreciate it.

I have applied to sponsor my husband. It is my income they look at and I was told that day care subsidy will not be an issue.
