My study permit application was refused

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.

I am being asked to prove I will leave Canada at the end of my stay. I am a Turkish citizen currently living in the United Arab Emirates. I applied for a study permit for an English ESL course to improve my overall English speaking, reading and writing.

- My visa to the UAE was almost expiring when I submitted the study permit application
- I do not have any family in Canada or the UAE. All my family members are currently in Turkey.
- I already have a bachelors degree in programming. I am simply applying to improve my English and the course is 7 months.
- I am currently working remotely for a company in Switzerland.

What can I do at this point to prove I will leave Canada as I am planning to reapply

Thank you.

So many issues so order GCMS notes. The main issue is coming to Canada for an ESL course. Why do you need to come all the way to Canada when you can take ESL courses in UAE or anywhere. You are not living or working in your home country, so how will an ESL course lead to career progression in Turkey. What are your ties to Turkey (property, investments). Again you can take an ESL course anywhere.

The VO clearly threw the book at you, going by the list of rejection reasons. Your application is highly suspicious for intent to immigrate. I would have been surprised if you got an approval.

Sorry bud, you need to put together a stronger application if you plan to apply again. Renew your resident permit in UAE. And you need a strong explanation as to why are you living in another country while working remotely for a company in a 3rd.

Good luck.

Take a proper 2 year course which costs CAD30000+, then they wont reject you. (Dont do 1 year course, they are scams)

1. Next time apply from Turkey as UAE has a far higher average rejection rate than Ankara.
2. Apply for GCMS through https://gcmsnotes.com/#pricing
3. Make sure to request notes from CBSA not IRCC - you get the same info but CBSA responds faster.
4. Don't listen to the demotivational people above.
5. Did you attach a statement of purpose explaining why you want to attend an ESL course in Canada? Next time make sure to emphasize the inadequacies of the ESL programs in your home country and that you want to learn from real native speakers. Plenty of good videos on YouTube about creating a good SOP.
6. Listen to these 3 podcasts - these will inform you better than anyone on this forum. The people in these podcast episodes are actual immigration attorneys:

Hello,

First step, request for your GCMS Notes. Second step, change your program to something that demonstrates either acadmic or professional progression. Lastly, renew your residence status.

From my observations, foreigners applying to Canada from within UAE always struggle to get a successful application outcome. I guess maybe due to their unfavourable immigration system.

Since every application is now done online, you may want to demonstrate strong ties to your home country and write a good SOP.
