Good day omofar
Thanks so much much for your effort on this thread
But I will like you to review my application so that I will at least have peace of mind that I have done everything right. In view of your years of experience reviewing and applying for different people
Hello Hardeholar1,
Thank you for visiting this thread. I also thank you for your compliments, what makes the world a better place is if we are able to help one another in any little way possible. I will try to review your profile and make a personal critical assessment of your situation.
Background information
I am a graduate of microbiology from a Nigerian university since 2012 , but I applied to a DLI in Canada to study biological science- laboratory and research which I was given admission letter December 2018
Before now i have work experience as an assistant laboratory scientist
At Face value your profile looks moderately okay. You did not specify your age, because demography is a very huge part of the application process.
1.
Purpose of Visit/Application:- You aced this aspect of your application. Your qualification and work experience in the field, as well as a LOA from a DLI for admission into the same field is very progressive. The VO would be happy with this! I would give you and A+ in this area.
And I have paid the tuition fee for the first semester
My mom is my sponsor with a closing balance of 71 000 cad, I also submitted my land documents as well as my sponsor land documents
I also submitted an affidavit of support as well as sponsorship from my sponsor My sponsor have just two dependent ( my dad and my junior brother) My application is one month old now and I haven't gotten any reply Do you think this is a good profile?
And what are my chances of an approval
2.
Ability to Fund Item (1): As per this area, I don't have the full information. You have paid your fees for at least a semester, that is very good, however did you request an official receipt from the DLI and did you include it in your application?
$71,000CAD is very impressive, however the mistake people make is that when you show such funds, and due to international laws on money laundering, you need to be able to
demonstrate in a manner that is
verifiable the
source of the income, were you able to do this? In a few posts back, I advised that if you do make a claim to the embassy you must be able to back it up in a manner that it can be easily verified. Based on the information you provided I would score you a C in this area.
Before now i have work experience as an assistant laboratory scientist
I submitted reference letter from my current work place as well as three month salary from my workplace as well as employment letter
I also submitted my land documents as well as my sponsor land documents
3.
Intention to Return to Home Country: This area is the most important part of your application, and based on the info you have provided, I am not sure you have convinced the VO of this. Again your age is important here, you graduate from the University about 7 years ago, why not apply earlier. The fact that you have been working all this while in the same field to gain experience will answer this query. Also you did not state whether or not you have any international travel history, this is very important as the VO can use this to assess how you may behave when it comes to getting your study permit. Besides your Dad, Mum, & Brother, are you married, any kids, what exactly would make you want to return to Nigeria on completion of your studies, this is where your LOE (Letter of Explanation) should be very detailed about your strategy to
return and
re-integrate back into the labour force of Nigeria. Did you company say you would be coming back upon completion of your studies? What is your salary as a Laboratory Technician, is the return on investment worth it when you get back to Nigeria? Have you ever been denied visa to other countries before in the past etc. Based on the information you have provided I would score you a D in this area.
I submitted my application first week of March 2019
I also submitted my land documents as well as my sponsor land documents. I submitted all my credentials. And filled all applicable Cic forms
I also submitted an affidavit of support as well as sponsorship from my sponsor. My sponsor have just two dependant( my dad and my junior brother). My application is one month old now and I haven't gotten any reply
Do you think this is a good profile. And what are my chances of an approval
Finally, I believe this is not a peak period for the embassy, and that is why the application I submitted at the end of February came out early, an average of 2-months by the time the visa gets stamped. But it is different for everyone, it depends on the VO, they do a lot of verification and they might still be at it, so hold on.
Land documents do not really mean much in my own estimation, liquidity is much more important than those. The VO knows that in the struggling economy of Nigeria, it will be difficult to dispose of land quickly should you have need of cash under short notice. I do not recall submitting people's credentials (I always apply online) except you apply through VFS, so I don't think it matters. The VO knows that if you did not have the requisite qualifications you would not have been able to obtain the LOA in the first place, I feel it is redundant. Also another redundant document is affidavit of financial support, it means nothing really. A simple letter, properly written of financial support should do the same thing. Have you done your medicals already, did you include police clearance certificates. Hopefully you have filled out your forms very well with no errors.
Hmmm.. My assessment based on face value of our post, I would score you C in terms of getting your study permit. That is you are in 50-50 chance of getting it. This is not really good, since approval rates in Nigeria is less than 15%, so you need to be at least 85% in contention.
Finally, as I always say, I have applied for people in the past, whom I did not believe would get their permits, but they did! God's favour and mercy was upon it. I have also applied for people in the past whom I was 100% sure that they would get their permit and they DID NOT!
Hold onto God, keep praying and hope for the best.
Please let us know how it goes.
All the best.
Cheers.
