Actually those countries which are contributing largely in their economy is under SDS
PAKISTAN was added bcz many international students are contributing in their economy and the minister share in his tweet that SDS is expanding to Pakistan So that maximum student can easily get their study permit to study there and contribute in economy
I may have to verify your claim. Based on my experience and data available about International students, the trend has always been Chinese students, then Indian Students, and then Nigerians. It may have changed slightly since I did my Masters in the UK, but I am very sure that Nigeria is the No. 1 African country that contributes to the economy of any western country as International students. Even the data shows that Nigerians account for the lion share of applications to Canada, about 12,000 applications every year. So if any African country should be on that list, it should be Nigeria. However, its not, all for the simple reason that people are intimidated by the sheer tenacity and doggedness of Nigerians. They will not settle for anyhow jobs. That is why Canada has not and will very likely not put Nigerians on the SDS!
Data also shows that Nigerians are the most educated minority group in the US. Please take the time to verify this!
So I am not impressed by any country that is on the SDS list, it simply lowers the standard of entry into Canada, by implication means Canada wants less skilled people coming into their country, I wonder what the implication of this will be in the future.
Cheers
