Student Aid / Loans for sponsored partner

I am sponsoring my wife to come to Canada. When she arrives will she be able to get Student Aid, or Student Loans? Will we have to wait for the 3 year Undertaking to be over before these types of help will be available? I would really like to hear from someone who has experience with a sponsored partner in the Canadian education system. Thank you.

I assume by "when she arrives" you mean when she lands as a PR. She should be able to get student loans. The condition 51 for PR only means that the applicant and the sponsor have to be living together for two years.

Ah sorry I meant in relation to the 3 year Undertaking. Will we be in default if the government helps with student aid, or lends money with a student loan?

No. Once she is a PR she can apply for student loans and aid.

Thank you for the direct reply This is very good news to hear as our previous application for a Study Permit had many limitations and we want to make sure we get ahead of all of the Sponsorship rules.
