Conservatives have retained power in Canada elections. So does it have any impact on FSW and PNP?
I guess, now FSW is fast forwarded as the reforms are initiated by Conservative govt and at the least there will be no changes in that.

Good luck to all

hello,

I applied for this program last week and was also wondering if I should apply for the FSW program as well...I know that most people have applied for FSW long before applying for this program. Just to be cautious I thought of applying for the FSW as well..does it make sense...Is that a good idea...Please advice...

Not sure about others, but I haven't applied for FSW. Rather, I would spend sometime getting the necessary police clearance from home country and FBI finger printing done so that when AINP approval comes in, I will be able to send CIC application within a day or two. Remember that AINP approval is valid for 180 days from the day it is issued.

Hope this helps.

The FSW is under the new rules that nobody knows yet which ones are they, I recommend to wait until the new rules came out, I send my FSW on June 16 and I haven't receive anything.

police clearance & FBI finger print

Enlight me on this issue.
As you said we need police clearance and FBI finger print.. How does it work?
Here I present the scenario, My friend applied pre assessment on Sep 5th and got the invitation on Oct 15th.
While he is in the process of sending documents for PNP certificate, would u recommend start working on police clearance and FBI finger print. If so,
1). Getting back ground check from FBI and finger print, why do we need police clearance from home country?
2). If anyone aware me how one can do the FBI finger print and apply for back ground check? I mean is there any website or place where to apply?
3) Last not least, what documents one should attached along with CIC application form for PNP certificate if they didnt enlist any document along with the invitation package? That mean they dont need any further document since my friend submitted evrything with pre assessment form like Pay stub, Experience letter mentioning the job performed, I797, Passport info.,Resume.
please provide your input with best of your knowledge.
Also which would be better to enclose,,, bank statment for funds or just the the statment stating funds r available in the accounts.
only asking if we need to provide bank statment then one need to wait to end of the month when the accounting period is closed
Thanks all

Police certificates are needed when applying to CIC. That is after getting PNP. Police(FBI) certificates are valid for an year, so it is not worth getting them too early. However, Police certificates from the country of your citizenship and any other country where you have stayed for more than a year can be obtained any time as they do not have expiry as long as you continue to stay in the US till you get your Canadian PR.

For FBI fingerprints here is the link: http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm
For other countries refer to their websites.

Hope this helps

Just want to share my experience with this Pilot Program:

Oct 7 – I Called the Alberta Hotline and same day got the email for the 1 page pre-assessment form; emailed it same day.
Oct 8- Received an email requesting for more documents (H1-B visa, paystub, job description, NOC#etc)
Oct 10 – I emailed all the required documents
Oct 17 – Got the email confirming receipt of my submitted docs.

The latest email states and I will quote: “AINP Pre assessments and invitation to apply are taking up to 60 working days to process. Completed AINP application can take up to 30 to 90 days before positive nomination cert is issued”

I am not sure if we all got the same response..but this was mine!! Cross fingers :)

This is the reply I got on Oct 11. 2008 in response to my documents submitted through email.
They said it would take 4 months to process. Did any one get similar reply ?

"Thank you for submitting these documents. The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) Office will assess your application.

Given a positive pre-assessment, the AINP Office will send you an application package, and an invitation letter to apply for the AINP. Normally, AINP pre-assessments and invitations to apply can take up to 4 months to process.
Once you have completed all the necessary AINP/CIC forms, you will send your application package back to the AINP Office, whereby they will process your AINP application. Completed AINP applications can take up to 4 months days to process before a positive nomination certificate is issued.
Once you have received a positive nomination and AINP certificate, the AINP Office will instruct you on how to proceed for the second phase of the process for permanent residence, which is processed by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). The second phase of the process with CIC can take 6 - 12 months."

Their responses do not seem to be automated...could it be that the reply varies from the Immigration Specialist? Mine was "Bobbie" I never actually got anything from "Gingie".

Oct 11 was a Saturday...do they work on weekend now? i just wondered....i hope they do so everything will move faster :))

Hi dnataraj,

I got my police clearance and FBI finger print last year (Oct-Nov 2007) from my home country and FBI in USA respectively. I haven't left since April 05. Can you give URL where it says that my police clearance and FBI finger print clearance is valid if one hasn't left USA since the time these certificates were issued. In my case, it has been over 42 months since I have continous stay in USA.

Your timely reply will save me from lot of process pain :) I was about to re-apply for FBI clearance and police clearance from my country consulate in Houston.

Cheers!

I said, police certificates from your home country are valid until you visit and stay there again for a long time. This is because the purpose of police certificates is to prove that you do not have criminal history in the country of residence. When you have not visited or stayed there, it is obvious.

FBI, you may have to do again as it will be more than a year when CIC starts processing your application. When I was applying for FSW which I did through a lawyer I got this information. However, better check with Canadian immigration office.
